In India on annual leave visited MMTC Pamp retail store and purchased some premium silver coins not available outside of India


Each silver animal coin has unique almost proof like reverse that has the associated feature for that animal

Missing some animals to complete the collection hoping to acquire before returning back to the UK.

Received a 2015 Gold Sovereign BU from the kids for Christmas! 

And Santa brought me a Trial of the Pyx 2017 1/4 oz Gold Britannia Proof!

And one more bit of silver, a 2018 £5 Silver Proof 5th Birthday Prince George...I have wanted to get the coin for the unique St. George and Dragon design. 

Landed back 

A few Perth Mint pickups from this week.
First is the new 2oz silver bullion version of the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One. Very attractive coin.
Next is the 2oz silver antiqued Dragon & Phoenix coin. I bought one of these when they were first issued and put my name on the waiting list for the 2nd which came in this week. 
And lastly a Christmas present from the mint, a tin of Perth Mint mints! 

I am not sure you will ever come across a seriously worn sovereign.
If you had one of these coins and wanted to sell it, the only place likely to be interested is a bullion dealer who would pay spot or less on the weight of the coin before scrapping it so that's the end of its life.

Been looking forward to this arrival. 2006 1/4 oz proof gold Britannia Portrait set.
The 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005 designs, but dated 2006, along with a standard 2006 proof.
An Isle of Man Angel and Russia St. George also.

I couldn't resist getting another little beastie - the Lion is definitely my favourite of the series!

Two and a half ‘special’ year Half Sovereigns- Queen’s Golden Jubilee 2002, The 2016 Butler Queen’s 90th Birthday portrait and the ‘half special’ 2018 with privy mark that commemorates the 65th Anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.

The mirror finish is so reflective its hard to take pictures. Look at the light reflected onto the case.

I like the plain edge design. Kind of want to get a raw version now to have a closer look! (Bigger coin would be nice too 😂)

A good day. Bought a loose double sovereign 2005 proof at an auction before the summer for £490 landed. Looked like this (cf pic from the auction website). Sent it in for grading after a bit of TLC at home, plus conservation at NGC and just came back 3 months later at PF70 Ultra Cameo...a perfect coin (£490 plus £65 grading fees). Only 10 PF70UC or DC graded in total thus far at NGC and PCGS respectively. Well worth the punt on grading from effectively a bullion coin buy plus a bit. A rarity. Not a massive win in the great scale of life but a nice result either way and a good chunk of bullionesque level British Sovereign gold
