    The 1917 Candian sovereign came back from grading by PCGS. Very happy with the result.

    This morning I completed my last shift with my current employer, and my last night shift ever!  Start my new job Wednesday.  It was definitely time to move on, my colleagues know me far too well and what I like and bought me some wonderful parting gifts- going to get my nose into those Spink books right away.

    Just got my military set back by PCGS, very happy every coin got a 70 grade. This set may not be as popular as the culture set which has Kew Gardens but it is equally stunning.

    For both sets, I've made a showcase here (one of the coin is yet to be photographed):

    What a lucky lad I am and the gamble I took landed.
    Thanks to@Numistacker for all his effort in getting these back to me.  The Sovereign was conserved by NCS prior to Grading as it had been handled and sustained fingerprints.
    And a special thank you to @ilovesilverireallydo For selling this James Butler Sovereign to me in the first instance.  It’s one of my favourite QEII portraits, alongside the Machin and Maklouf but not surpassing Mary Gillick’s effigy.

    Received my first platinum coin from @Jamesd  Very nice indeed. I must thank him for contacting Royal Mail, (even though it was the first day of his holiday ) as I thought it was lost.
    It was worth the wait though.

    Cant match that array of yellow stuff @Bullionbill01...but here is a gaggle of 2019 silver swans (or is it technically a “wedge” of swans) !?
    22 oz of Perth Mint at its best. I did notice on these though that the Queens portrait has changed from 2018 to a far more stern monarch. Not an improvement.  Swans are nice though 😊

    Latest forum purchase arrived today from @Robjw - a trio of trios, 2018/19 Oriental border Britannias and 2018 Dragons.
    Hopefully I can resist the shiny things on here until the end of the month... The stack is growing a bit quicker than it's supposed to be! 😳

    A Holland Dubbele Wapenstuiver.  Thank you very much to @FFkook for this coin, as well as for some of the history behind it! 🇳🇱
    This coin is from 1780 is made of 0.583 silver, and the 2 S stands for two Stuivers.  Back then the Netherlands were a republic of seven provinces, and each provence made their own double stuiver with the shield of the province (similar to the lion dollars).  This one is from Holland, which was the largest and wealthiest province.

    My first graded coin, and the slab is huge!
    It’s a 10oz Lunar 1 2001 proof snake. The coin comes from a 5 coin 0,5 to a kilo set. With a mintage of 289 sets it’s quite a rare coin.
    It’s a nice addition to my BU set. Very happy with this one

    Got some NGC grading results back today, some of the good ones;

    To continue my 1977 collection, this beauty;

    and this coin was picked up as a bullion coin and after an ncs clean turned out to be a proof and get a PF69UC

    Few more Undated 20p's back with a selection of grades, upto an MS63.

    And another cheap pickup for the 1977 collection, non-ncs graded coin and graded PF69UC so very happy with that.

    I know it feels I have been ignoring Silver, but it ain’t true. Just not been posting much of it. Here is a recent stack of bars, such an interesting mix. Top line is a range of 100gm bars.
    And a shot of the bars case full enough so dropped it off at the safety box

    Yeah I inherited a load of stamps which I think were from the 1980's, I went to post a parcel and I showed them to the postal worker and she said I could still use them and that I had enough to send the parcel with, so that ended up being sent with a load on it.

    The sender is obviously using up old postage stamps.  The “Javelin-thrower in the wheelchair” and next to it, the “Hand and broken chain” stamps were I think both issued in 1970.  If still valid for postage, old stamps can be bought up cheaply in order to cut down on the cost of sending letters and packages.  But the face values tend to be low hence the need for a large number of stamps.
    In the UK, all the decimal stamps from 1971 onwards (excluding any ½p elements) are still valid for postage as long as they are unused.  It is an offence to re-use any stamps that have passed through the post uncancelled as this is defrauding Royal Mail
