Recently picked up my first 1oz-er, 1979 Krugerrand - very nice to hold in my hand, I think i've finally been converted from sovereigns!

Just bought a 1998 1/10 gold proof Britannia from chards at £140. Think that’s a pretty good deal

My first roman coin, silver siliqua of Gratian (367-375).
 

These rounds were on sale on APMEX last week, so I grabbed a few.  The US government dumped silver into the open market in 1980 and 1981 to drive down prices after the Hunt brothers tried to corner the market, and these were supposedly minted using the silver sold from the strategic reserve.  In any case, not bad looking for over 35 years old!

5 x 2014 1/4 oz Silver Britannia SS Gairsoppa.

More pre 1933 gold. One 1862 "civil war" $1. Covered in crud but underneath I think is a lovely coin waiting to emerge once cleaned and a 1905 $5 Half eagle with hardly a mark on it. Both make an offer buys from ebay.

Today, I received:
Tamnavulin reduced from £32 to £22 at Morrisons.  Maybe there's a correlation between Whisky and PMs?

Got one of the above myself. Nice design.
Meanwhile, picked these up at auction. 1887 double sov for £560, double 2005 sov proof for £520 and a SA £1/2 1953 PF63Cam for £175

I was lucky to get chosen, then skillful in that I guessed 2 out of 3 coin grades
The Mermaid i didn't like that much when it first came out and I saw it in videos and pictures of. But in real life it is really pretty. The Korean coin has a great design also.
I will keep them in the shrink wrap with Numi's name sticking out.
I am not collecting lately, that's why I haven't been around. I sold all my collection except my US coins.

For those who don't know this is an incredible rarity, and I think the condition is just lovely considering it's rarity. You'll have to do your own research if interested more in the background as I don't want to copy and paste a chunk here
