Sublime rare 1882 H newfoundland 2 dollar graded NGC AU58
The Newfoundland 2-dollar coin was issued in intermittent years between 1865 and 1888. It was the only circulation gold coin issued by a British colony. Although few coins were issued, it was broadly used in Newfoundland and eastern Canada. The coin became scarce in 1894 because of hoarding following the collapse of Newfoundland's banks and monetary system.
The H ia for Heaton mint Birmingham, one year only as the royal mint was overloaded with work and subcontracted the work out

This old chunky monkey arrived today. Not gonna win any beauty contests as it’s got some toning around the edge but a nice piece all the same (and a quick way to add 10oz to the stack!).
Capsule is shot so I’m after a new one if anyone has a spare one (wanted ad going up later)

Californian gold rush nugget retrieved from the ss Central America which sank in 1857 with 9 tons of gold on board,
very tiny nugget with a huge premium but it’s worth it in my eyes,

I'm absolutely over the moon with this wonderful addition to my Crown collection- the Crown tray in my Cabinet is filling up 😃

1996 Royal Mint Silver Proof Collection   In 1996 the Royal Mint released its first set of British silver proof coins, consisting of the coins from 1p to £1. Although a genuinely uninspiring precursor to some stunning future silver sets, this seven coin set is memorable only for its magnificently retro crushed velvet presentation box. When issued the lucky purchaser received a voucher entitling them to a free curry in the nearest flock wallpapered curry house and a complimentary prawn cocktail at any Beefeater steakhouse.   Which was nice.

Another day, another Crown.  Edging toward completing my Type Set- this one an 1893 Victoria LVI.  About GEF, quite Prooflike with a steel blue tone.  Lovely.
