I have been working behind the scenes with @CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions and approval from @ChrisSilver about assisting the members who choose to bid on their auctions. My idea is to be transparent with Bids/Lots against each other unless you wish to ‘Duke it out’ bidding.
It will also be a place to discuss queries like logging in, registering to bid and consignment questions etc.
It is also good publicity for COTR to help grow their auction awareness within TSF.
Please could we keep it factual and not a place to vent or inappropriate comments.
I will post all the details of the next auction separately.

    Format:
Title: Coins of the Realm Auction XX
Date XXXX. Live Online. X Lots.
This is free bit of advertising for a Site Sponsor but also an assist on members wanting to bid in an auction/sign up/consign your items to auction.
This will save members out bidding each other and understanding how COTR works with emphasis on no addition ‘fees’ on your bid (except P@P) or signing up.
    1. Important to ‘Register to Bid’ even if you have signed up.
    2. You can contact COTR directly through TSF and are very helpful and prompt.
    3. Voucher discount for Premium memberships.
    4. Post below the Lot number you are bidding on.
    5. Brief of the item bidding on to save duplicate lots.
If you want to outbid on the same item then that’s fair game. It is worth mentioning that duplicate coins can be occasionally listed under different ‘LOTS’.

Perhaps RM should copy Hatton's of London's "Sell Out Guarantee" (hear me out)
They set a cut-off date for each release, and whatever doesn't sell, they melt. But for this to work, they'd have to explicitly state that they will melt what doesn't sell and also provide the final mintage figures - like Hatton's, but without the worlds first 1/8th octagonal half sovereign.

Yes they said they are not selling  to you anymore,  they believe you must have shares in the Royal Mail or something similar😄

I like your outlook mate. I just wonder if they will pull the series if sales don’t improve sharpish. They dumped the lunar series quickly. With a series as large as this and with as many versions gold/ silver sizes etc I do wonder.

Hope you get it sorted sorted mate, stick at it .
I know very little about eBay, I assume there is no way of finding out how many times a person has disputed sales  (I.e. potentially scammed) over a set period of time? This would be useful information and should be available to sellers IMO, especially on high value items. A few disputes could  be expected, a track record of this could be avoided as could newly setup accounts.

That's the clearest indication that it's a scam, then, as that can only have been done deliberately. It means the buyer can prove the item was returned with the correct tracking code, whilst making it look like it was actually delivered nearby. Sending it to the wrong address means the actual recipient would be unaware that anything dodgy is going on and you'd have no idea a piece of card was sent back without the good fortune of having ended up with it.
It also suggests it's unlikely that the addressed recipient would have swapped the coin for a card.
With the evidence of the tampered address label demonstrating intent to commit fraud, I think you should contact the police at this stage in addition to trying your luck with the eBay case. A crime reference number ought to make eBay pay more attention too.

This has scam written all over it. I'd start making meticulous notes of everything, and save every communication you have with the seller/ebay/royal mail.
Write a strongly worded email to the buyer, making clear your intention to fully chase this up until the bitter end and to the full extent of the law, make it clear you know his home address and that you will make a claim in Small Claims Court for any loss you incur. Contact Citizens Advice, and the local plod. Don't let it go. Can't stand scamming currants.

Could I just have a quick sanity check please...
Those scratches on the half sovereign are completely unacceptable, right?
I just can't figure out whether they're trying to tell me they are acceptable, or whether they haven't looked at the coins properly yet again.

Unfortunately there's no choice, it's a legal monopoly. You can't go elsewhere for official UK coins so the mint can do as they please. The best petition you can do is to stop buying the coins, and email Royal Mint with a polite, coherent message stating that the reason you're not buying their proof coins is due to the low quality control. If they saw sales on Proof coins drop by 25 - 50% then they'll start to take action.

Bloody collectors, one minute they are crying to everyone that their latest purchase has a tiny speck on at x1000, magnification, next minute they are drooling over a dog of an error bullion coin. Send the bugger back to the mint, get a proper yin😄👍

Big shout out to @Clockpuncher for helping to complete my own Great Engravers collection with 2005 1oz gold Britannia designed by the legendary Philip Nathan. Though Philip is known for the iconic original Britannia which we have all come to love he also created 4 other incredibly beautiful 1 year designs in 1997, 2001, 2003 and 2005
