MickB reacted to CoinStruck in Coin Palace - rare early British Coins
I am in Japan on holiday and had a day trip to the city of Kobe. While there I thought I would see if there were any coin dealers and found a listing for “Coin Palace”. Thinking it would be a typical local coin shop I turned up to discover that I needed to book a time. They were not busy and very kind enough to let me in to take a look around their magnificent display room. As I was looking at the first coin, an Edward III hammered gold Noble graded MS63, the owner explained that he specialises in rare British coins. As you can see from the photos he has some of the worlds highest graded examples along with Patten coin such as:- - the 1817 sovereign pattern coin; - 1817 Three Graces Pattern coin; - 1910 silver pattern coin with an alternative design for the “rocking horse” crown. He had 12 Gothic Crowns on display. An 1887 £5 sovereign graded PF 66 Ultra Cameo with its original presentation box. And lots more! I only wish that I had taken more photos.

Here you go then. Good luck to the graders on getting 70’s

Recently arrived from Sincona auction.
So much 'character' If only coins could talk!
Any interpretation ideas on the graffiti?
Damaged 'E' die apparently common.
Bit of haymarking, which I think adds to the 'character'.
And it's got the wrong crown according to Marsh, should have 4 more pearls?

Another successful exchange with @PapaLazarou 1/10th ounce "Little Hero" nugget, which now lives with its bigger brother. Easily my favourite coins

Got my first submission back from NGC today via @GoldDiggerDave
These were the best of the 5, and seeing as they were rescued from ebay without cases, i think they've done rather well. Thanks again to Dave for your help with these 👍

2005 Gold Proof Menai Straits Bridge £1 Another auction pick-up in the customary price area of spot+3%. The "Welsh" bridge was the third in the spanner series and has a mintage of 1,195. This leaves me short of just the 2006 Egyptian Arch and the 2016 Last Round Pound to complete my initial collection of all individually issued "gold and old" one pound coins.

MickB reacted to chrisdobb in I have found the way to control gold spot price
After buying gold bullion for some time the penny has finally dropped, I DO have the power to control the spot price.
Every time, yes every time I buy any gold the price will drop, this could be a fantastic tool for us all to make some profit, if anyone wants to make a few bob just sent me some cash, I will then let you know when I am about to buy bullion and then you can all buy at the new lower price, brilliant what could possible go wrong. I just can't understand why no one else has discovered this.
Come on lets all make some easy money.

MickB reacted to DrDave in I call this one 'el ladrillo de la casa'!!
el ladrillo de la casa
Another of my sand cast experiments. 75g and feels really good in the hand. I'll cast another without the text in the frog and get it laser engraved instead.

MickB reacted to pricha in How much would you pay for this
I would leave this coin lying around the house so any burglar who came across it would think there's nothing worth stealing here and leave immediately.

Make an offer, and buy it for someone you don't like

So this isn't gold or silver and really belongs on a "yesterday I received" but here is my latest ..... a customised laser engraved tungsten wedding ring with joint UK and US flags. Beautiful one of a kind just like the Mrs.
