Welcome to the world of collecting/stacking/investing etc etc!
If you are purely buying silver as a future investment, then ideally you'll want to buy the coin or bar with the smallest premium. Generally speaking, you'll find this in sales and offers on the forum.
As for the choice of coins or bars, i personally find that coins will have a lower premium, probably due to volume of production, popularity etc. But you'll possibly find that you fancy having a Britannia bar for a change (for example), or something a little more bespoke from some of the forum members such as @BackyardBullion.
The forum members have feedback scores so that you can see those that are active and have positive feedback. I've dealt with quite a few in the past couple of months and they've been straightforward and stress free transactions.
    Good luck with your investment.
    Dave

Latest additions through the post. First of the 2023 Britannias have arrived along with the last 2022 sovereigns to fill the tube. Also you can never go wrong with mini beasts.

This isn’t so much a ‘today I received’ post but more a ‘today (yesterday) I saw’ post.
I spotted it in Aldi and thought of everyone here.

    Hi all,

Silver and gold stacker here, mostly bars with some coins too. If anyone actually has some adamantium, I'd certainly be interested in discussing this fictional alloy with you.

Found my way to this forum whilst seeking more info on other silver enthusiasts being as most of my friends aren't into PMs.

Hoping I can contribute to the forum in a positive way.

    Spooky.

I'd watch Inside Man with Denzil Washington, Clive Owen, and Jodie Foster, then the Bank Job with Jason Statham and Keeley Hawes, followed by King of Thieves with Michael Caine and Ray Winstone, and then give the idea a miss.

If you’re thinking of auctioning one of the mystery boxes on TSF, I’d be happy to start the bidding at £1.

I don't usually have much of a life expectancy on discussion forums, but the banter and general good natured interaction minus toxicity on this forum has kept me here...  Yes, certain topics attract certain people, and those same people tend to avoid other topics which don't really interest them.  So what.
For my part, I'll still stick around for a while yet and if I see a coin or a collection for sale which really jumps out at me or if I have a connection to it from my own little collection I might comment on it even if I have no intention of purchasing.  Again, I have to say  so what.
Why should anyone be offended by this..??
Oh, and one other thing : if I happen to get my tinfoil hat on from time to time,  again I can only offer "So what"  !

There was a page on the Royal Mint website that said the Bullion Myths & Legends King Arthur coin would be released in December the other day, but I can't find it now.
It was the one you got to when you clicked to sign up to register your interest which I did.

This link says it goes on pre-sale on Tuesday 25th Oct (or contact your account manager if you spend enough to have one)

I think these RM 1oz gold bullion coins could be a better value option to buy going forward, over their significantly dearer new release 1oz gold proofs
The second series Queens beasts are fabulous use of the microdots engraving as @GoldDiggerDave brought up a few weeks back elsewhere
Looks like this series will continue in the same vein

I understand that what I was selling didn’t sell because there wasn’t any interest at the time. Not everything does sell here and I’ve seen many sale posts withdrawn. You win some, you loose some, usually on a boat.
Thanks and I know how to report a post but I’ve never reported a comment on a sales post on any of mine or anyone else’s sale posts. I haven’t needed or wanted to.
I suppose we can’t all agree about everything all of the time but you do make some good points.

I enjoy doing small deals for a few thousand pounds each with people who are pleasant and happy, with a sense of humour.
It's much more satisfying than doing multi-million pound deals with miserable outfits with no sense of humour!

Whilst we are on the subject of etiquette and I am assuming because we all collect coins of a valuable nature that we are all of similar age.
I would like to bring up the over use of emojis. Now the other day I managed to upset someone at work when I said "that I never trust a man that uses emojis" but I don't see the point unless you are still of school age and air a bit of lazyness and a bit of giggly teenage humour.
Surely this is a place of business where thousands of pounds exchange hands, is this the place for smiley winky clown faces.

Some members may have already accumulated a few ounces before joining the forum, so probably do not see the need to buy or sell on here.
Beside, TSF being UK centric and not every member still resides in the UK. There are cheaper VAT-free PMs elsewhere.
Having said that, personally I rarely comment on sales posts. I do read them out of interest for PMs and to see what's on offer. The comments are usually one liners and can easily be skipped. I do not find them annoying unless there are too long.  I can understand why it can be distracting and annoying to some members particularly if the comment adds no value. I like to think that members who have been on the forum long enough should know the characters on here - who you can joke with etc.
I find the recent auctions humorous. Silly but fun 😂  and unlikely to be in everyone's taste.
I have agree that the forum should not become a sterile environment as it could become very boring.  There are members from all walks of life. Some likes certain topics more than others. Members who do not like those topics can simply skip them. No one has to waste time by reading through them.
Overall, I find the forum fairly balanced. The core subject being about coins and precious metals. Then there are the fringe topics..........
PS. In writing all that, only +5 points towards my Grand Master badge. Are people commenting on sales threads just to gain easy points !!? 😂
