Silverlocks got a reaction from mr1030 in Today I Received.....
Another little indulgence from Germania mint - Knights of the Past Malta. In many ways I prefer these to Germaina's gilded and technicolour offerings. If Malta were to mint Euros with Templars on the reverse I'd be ever so happy.
Fun fact: I had sheep's brains for dinner in Malta once and bought a bottle of prickly pear liqueur.

Only been stacking a couple of months and had a memory of my parents giving me a half sovereign when i was a kid, had no idea where it would be. Been searching for it for a few days now and today i finally managed to find it in some old files... so today i kind of got a freebie and found a coin that I first looked at about 35 years ago.

Silverlocks got a reaction from dicker in Gold Monitoring Thread £ GBP only
I've seen most of the Bond films - including the older Sean Connery ones - but I didn't remember a single scene from Octopussy in that video. Not one of Eon's more memorable efforts, I'm afraid.

So, most of my Q3 stuff is in - astute observers will notice that there's a missing pile of Krugerrands, and there's also a bit of numismatic stuff still en route. Perhaps I will take another photo once all the Q3 stuff is in. It's starting to look like a stack now, though, so -
Q4's plan is a bit more prosaic and longer on gold - a few sovs, a 1/4 oz Tudor lion and maybe a 1oz brit. Possibly some other bits and bobs of silver in the numismatic space.

Silverlocks reacted to artalien in What's your latest stacking goal?
I just started about 6 months ago and I can now price in grams of gold: as in "I'm not buying that as I could get 4g for it". Nice to have variety in the stack Silverlocks.

Her name is Sybil Eberle. Here is a little article by her, about designing this Steampunk coin.
https://www.cit.li/2021/05/25/12364/
I guess, the other two Steampunk coins are also created by her, but have no information about this. CIT doesn't give much information about the designers, which imo is a shame. For me they are the most innovative company, if it comes to modern coins. Would be good to know, who is creating/engraving/designing their ideas.

A further foray into numismatics - Tudor beasts lion and some of Germania Mint's offerings.
Still no proofs.

And my first real foray into numismatics - a set of Royal Mint Legends: Robin Hood, Maid Marian and Little John.
I did promise myself not to get into numismatics. I haven't bought any proof coins yet. Honest.

Silverlocks reacted to Bigmarc in Silver for Christmas
Have a look at the pocket piece thread (dunno how to send link). My #1 has a pre 1920s half crown, I always find it lying around but just pop it back in the same place in his bedroom. He is 5, doesn't speak either, very boisterous. He has had quite a few visits to Great Ormond Street and every time he comes out I get a Peter rabbit proof (only time I spend over the odds for silver). I am looking forward to the Harry potter one's coming out to keep the tradition going. Problem I have I'd my #2 never gets ill or goes to hospital so has nothing, need to think of a way to even things out a little.

Bought my very first coin on Thursday and have just received it. The first of many, and to say I’m happy is an understatement. 😁
