Collector - buys with the intention of holding for a period of time, perhaps as assets, investment or for passing to the next generation.
Someone who cherishes their purchases and perhaps looks at them from time to time.
Proud to display and show to friends & family

Flipper - buys with the intention of selling sometimes as quickly as possible or soon after to make a profit - fast buck mentality.
Doesn't necessarily care about the item, merely buying at a good price and selling at a higher price.
Never looks at the item after purchasing.

Intent.
Buying to make a profit vs buying, enjoying and profiting. By this definition you are real collector Dave. Just a ruddy good one that turns a profit, and enjoys looking at lots of coins...you'd probably do it for minimum wage just to look at them 🤣

No-one should want unlimited mintages. Basic supply and demand tells us that.
If 100 people want a product the cleverest manufacturers produce 99 of them to keep the value up. Produce 100+ and the values decrease.

Rubbish, serious collectors want to get hold of the really rare ones. If they say otherwise they are lying. Nothing they like better than to build up kudos by getting hold of these and bragging to their "mates".😎

Ah well, at least im not indebted an extra £5,595 + £2,395 that i hadn't real budgeted for
I will save myself for the next Great Engravers 2oz gold release instead down the road

With energy prices so high it might cost more to turn the furnace on. 

Personally, I hope lots of people cancel their orders or return them later, so they have to melt down loads and crush the boxes. Hopefully leaving a total mintage of just the ones I have!😎

Absolutely, I recommend to everyone I speak to, to do their own homework and understand what they are getting into (we all remember Barry last year buying 42k of gold gothics expecting to make more on top of the well over RRP that he’d paid for them). Barry was a cautionary tail and a perfect example of inexperienced buyer, I bet he’s still explaining that one to his Mrs if she’s not already divorced him.
All anyone can do is enjoy the hobby, and if you are making money at the same time, it’s like getting paid money to play golf or go to the gym that’s the way I look at it. 
 

I like the design and wanted the first KC III in my collection, as long as I don't have to sell anything these are being gifted to my kids.  In that respect and meaning no disrespect, in a few years we maybe buying a new Kings first proof again.

My other 10 pennies worth……..in 1989 the Royal Mint could not shift the 1989 proof sovereigns, strangely enough the UK was in a similar economic position🤔 
How many wished they backed the truck up back then ?

Given the problems the RM have  with basic operations a trickle down strategy seems a mind blowing departure in terms of business strategy
If intentional - totally inefficient and succeeded in cheesing people off   ( the staff must be so stressed)

The system couldn’t cope took orders that couldn’t be processed that were then cancelled so stock became available again 
the coins are great but what a s*** show

I’ve got a few 2022 QEII as well 🤗 I’ve definitely won on those all year so, even if the KCIII does not do as well (I think it will) add the 2 together and I’m still in the gravy……..what’s not to like?
