  1. Thank you all for chiming in! I really appreciate each of you leaving a comment with your advice. I think I'll hold onto it for a while until prices rise.

    Hi Rashka

My advice is: Buy low, sell high.

I don’t know which coins you own or the condition but sounds like you are going to do a swap of some .999 for some other .999.

Personally, I wouldn’t be selling them for a loss, I would leave it for the price of silver to rise.  Especially if you don’t need to liquidate to cash.

My advice would be include a link to your previous post(s).

    😎

I updated my post with a link to the coins I am selling. Most of these coins/bars are from when I was starting to get into silver and as you might know I took a liking to quite a few collecter coins 😆. As I learn more about precious metals I have been foregoing the collector stuff for more generic metals. I have paid quite a bit of premium for a lot of these and I am not sure if I will make that back.

  3. Hey forum!

As you may have seen I am selling some of my collector coins in UK Ungraded. I have some more coins I want to sell as well, but there has not been much interest regarding them apart from 1 I sold. I am selling them as close to my buy price, however I have been thinking of selling them cheaper and take that hit to exchange these coins for more well known generic ones (eg. britannias).

I was wondering what kind of advice more experienced forum members would have for me regarding this. Would it be better to hold these collector coins and wait for silver price to rise or sell them for a loss?

    Thanks in advance!

Less VAT silver more VAT free GOLD

Yeah silver was a good entry point for me to start stacking, but it is way too costly with VAT and everything. Atleast we got Sovereigns for well priced fractional gold 😁

    Nice write-up.👍

I must admit, when I heard about these 2021 commemorative issues, I showed an interest and thought about buying a Morgan and a Peace dollar.

I even registered my interest with a bullion dealer.  But weeks later when I saw the pre-sale prices via email, I quickly backed down.  This was because I could not justify paying such high prices for effectively newly minted replica coins.

Still, there are plenty of people interested enough and paid a high premium for them.

I see this commemorative issue as another one of those where people are afraid of missing out.

When things calm down in a year or two, who know if they remain as sought after. But for me, I suspect some may wish they never bought the hype ! 😎

Same. I was interested in buying some as I don' have any US coins, but Holy S**t. £120 for for a coin retailing for half that in the US? Not sure if premiums will ever go down as I suspect people will not want to sell for a loss.

  7. Hey fellow stackers!

I picked up a 10oz 2021 Silver Czech Lion earlier this year and I was wondering if it was worth grading this coin due to it's limited mintage.

I have never taken it out of it's capsule since I bought it. If I should grade it, how would I go about it (UK) and how much would it typically cost?

    Thanks!

  8. Nothing too interesting for me, but I do come from a family where saving or investing is enouraged. It would mainly take the form of land in my culture or gold, but a pleb like me can't afford much of either xD so silver and crypto are main investments. Entering the work force a few years before I realised I cannot let my money sit in a bank and depreciate, especially with the economic instability around the world. People like me in the 18-30 age bracket can't look forward to a steady employment and pay until retirement so I will have to do what I can so I don't find myself 65 with barely anything to my name.

So bullion is a excellent way for me to hedge against inflation :)
