@GoldDiggerDave It's a shame they have started to do this with the orders at the Royal Mint but you have to remember that they are not dealing with just a few customers. We run only a small company who happen to sell these and our bill alone is over £125,000 this is a lot of money changing hands. This also stops people buying just for a quick flip if you think about it, as they are forced to pay and wait rather than selling on and making huge profits and leaving the poor collectors who were not able to buy at the release price  complaining at having to spend  2 x or 3 x the release price to indulge in their collecting habit.
I think the Royal Mint are under a lot of pressure to be reigning down on flippers after the Platinum Jubilee Issues and the Great Engravers etc maybe this might be their solution. Who knows if it will work? Only time will tell.  I kinda feel they are dammed if they do, and dammed if they don't. (I know this feeling lol)  I don't think the price of gold really matters with these issues as they are already way over gold and the Royal Mint would have purchased the gold way in advance. I've only purchased directly from them a few times as we tend to go to the distributers. I know The Royal Mint get a lot wrong but it's hard to fault this design I love it! I really can't wait to see them!
We have taken most payments now,  and don't usually- but the timing of the release, the increased demand and volume and not knowing how soon they will be issued instigated us to take payments in preparation.
I heard the Sets might be first, but don't hold me to it I have only emailed the distributer tonight so nothing confirmed.
Right, back to work much to do...happy moaning guys!  😆

These were put into auction to give customers another chance to buy them if they had missed out purchasing from the Royal Mint or other retailers. We often add new releases to auction to add interest and for this reason. I disagree with those who think this issue will be a flop. On the contrary! We sold out of our initial allocation and had to preorder more from other suppliers to offer them to new and regular customers. The Royal mint reduced virtually all allocations to wholesale. Which I believe left them with a larger stock base than they previously had on other releases. (Probably from complaints about flipping).  I think those who cancelled or decided to wait to purchase these coins will live to regret this decision. In our experience most changes of design are better purchased at the time of release as they rarely reduce in price and mostly increase. Whilst this Memorial Issue wasn't the anticipated Coronation issue most of us expected, I think in time will prove to be a extremely popular desirable design. Afterall, it is still THE FIRST SOVEREIGN BEARING THE NEW KING CHARLES III PORTRAIT.
Anyone who missed the auction or the 31st December cut-off time do get in touch we have kept a few items available and will still honor the release price on some of these releases. 0800 169 1066
