yes a contemporary fake gold coin that used platinum is still a fake coin.
it's about qc and not market value.
substandard and sub market value are two different things.
you're not going to get much repeat business if you randomly replace orders with items
that are currently worth more.

happens all the time. customer buys a single sample item from amazon. customer finds a problem
(might not even be the product's fault). customer leaves a bad review of findings for everyone to see.
what happened to 'the customer is always right'? the situation was handled badly by jim.
jenny had good reason to ask for an exchange.
I don't think this would explain it.
do you expect someone to accidentally melt pre 2013 britannias by mistake and not notice the increase
in volume and weight?
imo what's more likely is that that exact bar has some sort of metallurgical fault that 'tricked' the sigma
testing. the assumption is that sigma uses some form of sonic or wave testing similar to an advance
version of a ping test. some genuine silver coins just don't ping properly.

not really. no one said it had no silver. some people suspect it might have an incorrect purity of silver.
also it's not just about how much silver does it have, it's about jim's attitude towards customer complaints.
if the replies from jim are actually true then the sheer arrogance of jim(representing wss) is highlighted.
'we can do no wrong' sounds very much like when apple claimed that no signal on early iphone 4 were
because the customer didn't know how to use their phones properly to get a signal.
instead of the simple compatibility issue that it looks likely it was, now it's also 'that's how you treat
your customers?')

the maths should be
1.5% compounded over 7 years = 11%
then 4% compounded over the remaining 3 years and multiplied = 24.9%
(the above is assuming rates will hit their historic average of 4-6% or higher)
2% compounded over the same 10 years = 21.9%
so if rates hit 4% in 7 years time then you would be 3% better off with the 10 year fix.
both fixes will perform equally if rates are at 2.9% in years 8 to 10.
if you think rates will go above 2.9% in 7 years time then the 10 year fix will be less costly
than the 7 year fix.

it should read £3000(£15300-£12300) taxable at whatever the cgt rate is.
also your cgt allowance is shared across all cgt applicable assets for that tax year.
ie if you've already used up all of your cgt allowance by selling your house that year,
in the above example, then all of the £15300 is above your allowance and cgt taxable.
buying bullion gold sovereigns would make the accounts nice and simple.

from memory, the story doesn't end there.
that forum member made a verbal agreement with the seller that if they were real a higher price
would be paid for them. after confirming that they were actually genuine from a gold shop, that
forum member went on to fulfil the verbal agreement. it still turned out to be a good deal but had
the agreement of both sides.

the pointer was instead of gambling at a car boot sale, maybe invest the time and
effort into something that you can grow.

people know the mechanics of how a margin call works.
the question was why would anyone be so stupid as to take a sizable long position on a commodity
and not have sufficient buffer for temporary volatility spikes down. it's not like the silver price can get
to zero and stay indefinitely at zero, it's not like silver is not known for being able to be extremely
volatile. anyone who wants to take a sizable position in a volatile commodity like silver can simply buy
physical and not have to ever worry about margins calls.
the simple answer is that silver is shorted because people(who are willing to put their money where their
mouth is) think that the price will drop enough for them to make a profit.

those who claim silver is worth $1k/toz in the near future should put their money where their mouth is.
I'm willing to sell all of my bullion silver holdings today to any that is willing to pay half of that price.
or maybe it's only worth that price when they are the ones doing the selling?

zimbabwe government has not adopted the gold standard(something you brought up).
this is irrelevant however, as zimbabweans were using panned gold as payment for bread
(they are not using fiat currency) which is what I said. the point being they moved from
currency to no longer using currency, then they moved back to using currency. are they all
retards by moving back to using fiat currency?
please don't mis-read what I post and then claim that I'm wrong because you mis-read the post.

why would anyone not worth their integrity be worth your time?
those people should either put up or shut up.
anyone who believes there is a realistic chance of a gold standard(metals monetary system) have not done
the global maths.

on the futures market you sell something that doesn't currently exist.
eg when a farmer sells the wheat that he has yet to grow on the futures market.
(for those who haven't worked it out, 74 of the 75 silver ounces sold are futures market sales.
ie they are selling 75 different ounces, not 75 times the same ounces as silver pumpers are
claiming that it is)
