These two arrived today, my first glimpse of the new Britannia 2021 secure design and I wasn’t disappointed. The design is stunning.
This design comes a close second to the Britannia oriental designs in my opinion.
I’m impressed, I just need the gold version now.
    I say need, maybe want?
    No need it is. 😆

SilverHive reacted to ChrisSilver in 🎅 2020 Christmas Prize Draws 🎅 Entry open worldwide
It is time for the 2020 Christmas Prize Draw entries. Last year there were over 85 entrants I believe, you can see last years Christmas Prize Draw topic here, to have an idea as to some of the prizes. This year we are keeping the same 1oz minimum silver entry but increasing the cash value of any alternative prize that is entered, due to the increase in spot price and the value of 1oz of silver.

Anyone wanting to be entered please list your interest below, before the end of 25th November 2020 (UK time) ONLY PEOPLE WHO DONATE A PRIZE WILL BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAW.

Everyone who enters the draws will receive a prize. And everyone who enters will need to donate a prize as per the conditions at the bottom of this post.

Last year, each day running up to Christmas there were draws and each prize that was donated was matched up to a winner. This year as @Bullionbilly is unable to run the draws, we may decide to run them in a more simple way and release the names in batches or in one go. This has yet to be decided, but we will update this at the end of November / beginning of December. The draw(s) itself/themselves will be in December. All prizes will be assigned randomly to the winners, either by using a random number generator or using a spreadsheet program to randomly match up prizes to winners.

If you already know what the prize is that you will be entering into the draw, please feel free to post the prize below. This will help to encourage more members to join the Christmas Prize Draws and to donate good prizes   If you are unsure the prize you will be entering but know that you would like to enter you can still state your interest in joining below, to be included in the draws, and add prize details later.

    Conditions of entry:

Minimum prize value of 1oz of silver or £25 GBP / $30 USD / applicable currency equivalent cash value of an alternative prize.

Members entering must hold Premium Membership. As well as Premium Membership helping to support TSF to grow, choosing to only allow Premium Members to enter also means that there is less risk of an entrant defaulting on sending their prize. Any members who enter but do not follow through on their entry risk their account status. We do not anticipate that there will be any issues this year  Feel free to purchase Premium Membership to then enter the draw below.

As TSF is a worldwide forum, any member who enters does so under the condition that they agree to post the prize worldwide to to the winner and to cover the cost of standard world-wide shipping. It is the receivers responsibility to pay any applicable taxes and import duties etc that may be imposed by customs when receiving an international parcel.

Entry is available to any Premium Member in any country worldwide.

A day off today, so a nice little drive to Royal Wootton Bassett, to see my new friends at @BritanniaCoinCompany, the plan being to buy another sovereign.
However I timed it just right as they were reducing a load of silver flatware items, basically because they had too much stock, and it was being sold at spot + 10%. Which considering only last week I was paying more than that on eBay and thinking I had a bargain, I just had to have a rummage around and see what I could find.
First off, they reduced the price of a lovely silver double sovereign holder. (Obviously this wasn't 10% above spot, but I did get it for a major bargain). Superb condition, springs and lock work perfectly. When I got home and researched the hallmarks, it appears that it was made by HV Pithey & Co, and whilst the case was hallmarked in Chester in 1913, the date letter on the coin holding centre part had a different style letter n, indicating this part was hallmarked in London in 1908. Now the company was a London company that hallmarked in both Chester and London, and it seems when they built the case they put parts from different assays together.
The other silver piece I got was a heavy silver key commemorating the 21st birthday of Prince Charles in 1969. It weighs over 3ozt and I got it for 10% over spot, made by Turner and Simpson Ltd in Birmingham in 1969. It should shine up very nice with a bit of Goddard's.
Oh and I got a nice 1900 Queen Vic sov, which when I got home I noticed it was a Melbourne one. Happy days.
So if anyone is in the area, they've got a silver sale on, grab the bargains while you can.

Here today. Off to the vault tomorrow.
I wondered why the accompanying wooden box had a slab size hole instead of a capsule hole. The unnumbered COA states that the 400 mintage coins were sent to PCGS initially, hence the slab not a capsule. 389 achieved PR70.
