WOW

The Royal Mint don't learn.

They are really taking the biscuit with this set

https://www.royalmint.com/shop/coin-sets/Britannia-Through-the-Ages-Nine-Coin-Set/

£750!!!

I have *very gernerously* totted up the consituant parts and have come to a total of £120

Shocking.

That's bonkers. But then some of the other coins they've listed below the set. Who do they have sourcing the coins for them?

I’m surprised you have not been called out for omitting the fabulous 1g bars from the Oxford Mint in your table…..

Wasn't it this forum where everyone hoovered up incorrectly priced RM 5g bars & quarter sovereigns like locusts eating their way through a field before Christmas and caused shipping delays due to the number bought ?

Or was it another forum ? (asking for a friend ) 🙄

Being overseas, I’ve only ever bought from RM and Chards from your list.

Regardless of my preference (and that of others), the numbers are facts, so you can’t possibly be blamed for being biased towards any one company surely? 🫤

Looking at today’s gold price, I wish I had had the dinkydoos to splurge on those bars back then. 😕

I went through the spink guide too, best total I can come up with is about £135 and that's for "fine" prices (spink doesn't give prices for lower than fine).

Most of these coins conditions are described as "circulating"

I mean, honestly. This is just so bloody bad.

These coins you can literally buy by the kilo. They need 100 for this collection.

They couldn't find a better picture?

Yeah, I have called this set out at some point I am sure.

Might even be worth a stand alone video on it.

Spink books tell me that a Fine Elizabeth 1st Sixpence is £70 with Extra Fine being around £200

We know that a Fine example of a Young Head Crown is probably around £50

This means you are paying upwards of £500 for a Silver proof 1977 crown and a box.

Shame on the mint.

Shame on the mint.

It's showing as a new product but very similar to other offerings so easily confused.

I struggled to get to £200 for these coins even ignoring the poor condition of the 6p

Well, I am very happy to say that since we noticed this coin set the number of "total available" has not changed from 46

Also, the Britannia through the ages set has not changed from 13

If we can save people from buying these sets that is mission acomplished
