Maybe even a sign of expectation, the expectation today’s bargain, feeling like it could be another days expensive mistake. FOMO is on hold right now, people keeping powder dry?

The coin cabinet are introducing a buyer's commission. I'm not sure when this will be introduced but if is has started then it's possible this might have influenced the size of the bids.

I think it is 16%, compared to 30% plus everywhere else now including online fees etc. it’s not really too much. (Although, obviously more than 0!)

I think its a few things.

For some of those modern coins... they were massively overhyped by some within the community causing a lot of people to go for them initially but they're just finding their true value now. I'd argue they are coins that never should have been hyped in the first place but they were and sadly those that did the hyping and flipped quick did well leaving those likely new and inexperienced proof buyers holding the bag of something that will never be worth what they paid.

Tuesday at midday is a questionable time to hold an auction like this. This is the second one that has had coins sell for very low values.

The introduction of the buyers premium was bound to put some people off even though the premium is reasonable in comparison to other auctions. People get used to paying no premium and will be put off by the sudden introduction of one.

It's 6% and started with yesterday's auction.
