UK Silver Pourers Charity Silver Bar(s) Raffle Supporting The Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal - STAGE 1 THREAD

Recommended Posts

Oh, one last thing.

In the LiveStream on Friday I could do with a couple of volunteers to help with live chat moderation.

We are doing amazing things raising so much money for this cause, but there are also a lot of really horrible people out there that could ruin the fun with very rude and impolite comments.

Also, political considerations might be a factor to make a small minority toxic and ruin it for others.

As you can see from the original video, 11 people unsubscribed and 14 thumbs downed a Charity appeal...

So, if you would like to help with the moderation please just let me know and we can work it out 🙂

14 thumbs down for a charity appeal?

Sadly for them, they've inspired me to send in payment for 14 more tickets! 🙂

Thank you for doing this despite the trolls.

Tip of the iceberg.

The comments I self moderated in the first hour of that video speak volumes of the dregs of humanity

Social media is a dumpster fire. There is literally nothing you can do or say that wont attract some element of trash....

For true transparency, here is a transaction list from my bank.

1019875093_RedCrossTotal.jpg.cb331f55647746ea68a303bcb6d82481.jpg

Total donated through me as an intermediary for organising: £2,380

One transaction of £30 was made directly to the Red Cross by mistake from one person. They contacted me and have shown the donation records which I take on good faith are genuine so I have added them to the raffle and added their £30 to the total raised. If anyone has any major issues with this judgement call please feel free to drop me a PM.

I don't want to make this a precedent though, donations have to come through me so that we can keep track of everything and keep everything above board.

UPDATE ON TOTAL: £2,460

Yes, I imagine (or hope) a lot of people also donated directly to either red cross affiliates or other charitable outlets.  We shouldn't expect those payments to apply to the raffle.  Put yourself in the shoes of the people being affected.  If you haven't donated yet and you have the wherewithal to do so, why not consider it?  Big or small donations would be appreciated either in this raffle or anywhere else (but please check out the place  first, for possible scams). In the end, we are brothers and sisters of the world and should help each other when we are down.

@ryanp007

Thank you!

Maybe I should have said £3k before bed!

£3k is now the target before Friday Afternoon

Remember, £5 gets you a chance to win one of these bad boys....

And, it goes a long way to helping people in a multitude of different ways:

I saw a bunch of poor souls being loaded on Red Cross busses to be taken from a bombed out area to a safer place in the country.  I thought, maybe we paid for that.  Can you imagine how grateful you'd be to be taken away from that nightmare?

What can you get for £5 in the UK anyway?  Probably can't even get a pint.  Why not use it to get a chance of winning some silvery goodness and help some people at the same time?

Getting people away from a bad place, quickly... It's not in the breakdown, but very much worth it! Imagine if our (TSF) £3K+ brought bus loads of people to safety. Worth it!

Money raised from this raffle will free up money to help get people out of a bad situation fast. If we can provide the means for the support items then they can focus their funds on the rescue of those that need it.

It is all good.  There is so much stuff needed.  Medical, transportation, hygiene, reuniting loved ones, communication, food, clothing, shelter, mental health, etc. etc.etc.  Even a calm person on site to provide reassurance helps.

Also, I thought BYB was in bed.  And I can't believe someone didn't say, oh no, a pint is only £4 by me.
