This are actually pictures of a real coin from EIC. He’s charging £1k over and who knows if he’s actually got a real one. The portraits on these are pretty bad tbh

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

Description Bin Lord

- Didn’t bother to spell Douro or didn’t bother to research it

- Description that is deliberately vague

- BNTA stated as the brand

This was purchased at auction with one other from a collectors estate that’s all I know G.B. - Gold Sovereign Victoria YH 1871 GVF this is the exact heading used at the auction have no paperwork or coa just the written ticket in the case some of the coins recovered didn’t have coa there were sold and I wish could prove it was anyway good luck it’s an early coin add to any collection good luck see pictures”

Ok, in that one I can see they've used the wrong font.

How many years experience do I need before I can spot these things?

I have also reported to eBay. hopefully with the amount of people reporting this listing they may actually do something, but don't hold your breath.

Why anybody would part with their money without doing research before hand, baffles me 😕

Also reported but it seems futile and like eBay don't care. Their cut from a genuine coin and fake coin is the same

I've sent at least 100 reports about the fake ASEs and pointed out that eBay is an American company with HQ in the USA. Selling or facilitating the sale of known counterfeit US currency is a federal offense that comes under the purview of the Secret Service. The penalties in the UK for a business are severe too

As for the sellers, they have no fear. Report to eBay. Nothing happens. Report to Trading Standards. Nothing happens. Message seller with proof. Nothing happens. These guys are making 6 figures a year buying tat from China for $1-5 USD and selling on eBay for $30-500 USD. Too much money to be made by scammers and by eBay taking their cut to promote them

Mind is primary and mass-energy is derivative
