As long as it is genuine!  It does seem odd that such a coin is so worn.

This looks to be F over repositioned F in DEF, typical of the type of workmanship at the Mint during the mid 19th century.
Not sure about the D FID here but again appears to be just sloppy workmanship.

collectively as a community we certainly give kitco and Michelle Makori  a run for its money in our predications and market analysis

It looks very dodgy. I mean just for starters what is all this going on at the bottom of the neck? I would say if you are thinking about buying then don't. If you bought and can send back then do so.

Grading a coin is exciting at the start with a whole lot of nothing in between and either  disappoint or  jubilation the end.
There has been some slower submissions over the Christmas holidays.  I've currently got  9 separate subs that all have gone in at the same time they are all moving at different speeds, some are in grading and encapsulation 3 weeks before others and they all hit the US all at the same time.     The fastest usually is ancient coins for some reason.
The other issue you can get, the coins are sent to the US in bonded batches and they have to come back into the UK in the same batch.....Not just your coins there may be hundreds or others submissions......If theres a hold up with one it effect the entire batch in terms of time.
If anyone else want to know about grading just ask I'm happy to express my views and I don't BS anyone.  I do regularly speak to the guy in person at the NGC so if theres any questions I don't know I'm happy to ask them.

Your coin pictures show a very weak strike, take a look at the denticles. Here's a photo from the PCGS website for comparison.

These are lovely little coins. My Mum used to have earrings made with a pair of them so I have a strong attraction. With a gold content value of £97 the premiums are just to high. I wouldn't buy a sovereign for £800 and I like them better!

    A few things:
It's been struck without a collar (broadstruck) causing the blank to spill outwards The struck coin has then been struck at least one more time (multistruck), as you can see from the extra outer dots. That's caused it to spread out even more, becoming even wider and thinner (the overall diameter is 31mm instead of 28mm). Most noticeably, the inner blank spreads out far beyond the inner row of dots compared to a properly struck coin. There is no edge milling, because that would have been imparted by the [missing] collar. There is still edge lettering however, as those are put onto the outer blanks during the rimming process, before they're combined and struck. It's unfortunate that it's a bit dirty and mangled, but I expect it probably fell down into the machinery.
I love this kind of thing.
