One baby step at a time, but we're getting there slowly but steadily. Glad with the Dutch gold 10 Guilders from 1932 I've received today, especially knowing I bought it slightly under spot. 😂

I have repatriated this 15th century treasure back to the UK from a superb US seller. The photos don’t do it any justice, its absolutely stunning and I’m very pleased!
For those interested, it is an Edward IV Gold Ryal or also called Rose Noble only minted between 1464 and 1470 and the year in that period identifiable by the mint mark in the legend, which on mine is a little difficult to ID but its a Long Cross Fitchée, if in any doubt (see the close up) there were no other crosses used in the period they were minted. This mark puts it as minted between 1469-1470, making it even rarer, only just before Henry VI was restored to the throne. On edwards second reign the mint started producing Angles which are entirely different design. The coin was minted in London, identifiable as no letter in the waves beneath the rose / kings vessel.
7.61grams of gold and approximately 35mm in diameter.
Side note: The coin was also imitated on the continent in the mint of Gorinchem for around 100yrs after this date (and also thought during Edwards exile in Belgium), these are often referred to as a “Flemish Ryal”.  Identifiable if put alongside each an original, one difference being the continental copy is often slightly larger in diameter.
NB, if anyone is wondering what the lump of dirty metal is in some of the photos, its an original brass coin weight for the Ryal that I was able to pick up from someone that had found it in the Thames mud. It was only a few pounds but I though makes a nice collection.
hope you like as much as me 😁

Thought I would add this recent purchase. It’s the 2oz 2020 Kruger proof. Apparently the first year of the 2oz coin.

I also bought some light reading. Yes it’s about sovereigns!

A couple of 100gram silver Unimet bars arrived in the post today. Also, my first gold purchase of the year as well as my first 1/10oz coin, a 1989 Isle of Man Angel from my local bullion dealer in the high street.

It was good that I have waited for this Apollo commemorative US coin. Got it near issue price for a graded one. In real this curved 5oz silver coin looks great.

Dunno what your definition of a bull market is.

    Gold's current USD price:
    - New 7 year high
    - 52% advance off the last major low
    - Above an upward sloping 233dma

Things only get more favourable if you measure in GBP or most other currencies.
You'd struggle to find another anything else fitting those parameters that people would say isn't in a bull market, and even factoring in inflation it doesn't really change anything over the timeframe.

A few more to get 2020 under way, plus a back up 2014 horse. Ordered Sunday and arrived this morning in the UK from GoldSilver.BE can’t complain about that.

Received these beautiful lumps of Gold in the last few days- a spotty 2011 1 Onza Bu from Atkinsons, I should add that I was aware of the Spots prior to buying- but at +3% it’s worthwhile  getting the wire brush out.
The 2016 & 2017 1/2 Onza PP’s from @muenzdachs thanks Sören.  The two 1/2 Onza Reverse Proofs from  Emanuel at @RoslandGold.
The imposter is the 2018 1/2 Onza Bu, also from Rosland- a bit of a miscommunication with Emanuel saw its arrival - but the replacement 1/2 Onza PP is on its way.  Just working out a way of raising the cash to keep the Bu- great sales strategy Emanuel 🙄😂

My favourite size the 1/2 Onza

Golden Dutch Ducat, from the year 2000, just because I thought it would be funny to have a coin (although I suppose this rather classifies as a round) from that year.

Order from gs.be arrived today, after having ordered these silver 2020 pandas, silver 2020 Vergulde Draecken (or Gilt Dragons 😊), and gold 1898 sovereign last Monday. And all coins are in good shape, even the one of over a century old. Happy with this purchase. 👍
