I bought the Elephant off @GavinDevon I've got 2 elephants, a lion and a rhino,
I suspect we won't get another coin until next year with the way South Africa has shut down the economy, it's already taken them long enough to release the first 3 coins

If you’re a UK buyer who wants physical PMs for wealth preservation - Cut the sickly, poor cousin, silver middle man out as it will do no such thing for you.
    A real world (simplified) example:
I bought an oz of silver in 2016 it cost me around £18 and is now worth approximately about the same in a private sale and far less to a dealer.
I bought my first oz of gold in 2016 and it cost me £1049. It is now worth over £1400 in a private sale, or to a dealer.
Fancy charts, obnoxious YouTube silverbugs and our lord and saviour the fabled “gold silver ratio” can all go hang. As the buying power of my £s have evaporated over the last 4 years, it is clear to me which metal has preserved my wealth

Don’t be attracted by the false economy of being able to buy larger quantities of silver than gold due to its relative per oz affordability.
Save up and focus efforts on buying gold.
That being said, no one truly knows what the pms are going to do day to day and holding a small amount of silver is clearly a good idea for the sake of a building a diverse stack.

We're all free to make our choices when it comes to buying, holding and selling silver, I think the very fact that we are here on this forum makes us more financially savvy than 95% of the population, I've got gold to cover my back if the economy really does tank

Well I've only gone and done it!
This is my first ever gold purchase to add to my stack!
Took the plunge a few weeks ago and it arrived this morning courtesy of Bullion by Post! Was 50/50 whether this arrived before another little gold something (which of course I'll share when it arrives...hopefully soon 🤞🏻) I have bought off a forum member recently but this one won the race to be 'first in stack'
Not the biggest piece I know, but hey, we've all gotta start somewhere.
It is stunning though! My camera work doesn't do it justice.

Investing in silver is purely speculative, if you bought an ounce of silver in May 1970 (for £0.72) and sold it today for spot price £14.21 you'd have made a grand total of £3 profit factoring in inflation, that's 0.06% return per year, if you got lucky and sold it as it's all time high price of £29.26 you'd have made a profit of £20.12 (0.49% return per year).

Don't get me wrong I like silver but it isn't a long term investment for me, it's something to buy when prices are low and other assets are doing well and flipping it when it's doing well

Just going to leave this here, when you put 2 of the same coins together it's supposed to create one animal

I've got a price set in my mind of when I'm going to sell most of my silver and buy a house, luckily I live in the grim north, so I could probably buy a 4 bed detached for 3oz of silver.
Property will always be worth something, it's a basic necessity, humans have evolved to live with a roof over their heads, and if loads of banks start failing the government is hardly going to let millions of home be repossessed.
It's about been in the right market at the right time to maximise gains, I've bought some silver in a low cycle to exchange for property when that's in a low cycle, I buy gold to protect myself from inflation and an insurance policy should fiat currency fail

What's your plan with precious metals? to sit on them all your life and do nothing with them
If you can swap them for a property you wouldn't have been able to afford had you just sat on cash then what a wonderful exchange? any price drop will only  be short term
