Been looking forward to this arrival. 2006 1/4 oz proof gold Britannia Portrait set.
    The 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005 designs, but dated 2006, along with a standard 2006 proof.
An Isle of Man Angel and Russia St. George also.

I like the plain edge design. Kind of want to get a raw version now to have a closer look! (Bigger coin would be nice too 😂)

What could it be in the boxes?

Two and a half ‘special’ year Half Sovereigns- Queen’s Golden Jubilee 2002, The 2016 Butler Queen’s 90th Birthday portrait and the ‘half special’ 2018 with privy mark that commemorates the 65th Anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.

And cheers @StackSellRepeat For the PAMP

Anyone missed this beauty first time around, there’s more here:

A good day. Bought a loose double sovereign 2005 proof at an auction before the summer for £490 landed. Looked like this (cf pic from the auction website). Sent it in for grading after a bit of TLC at home, plus conservation at NGC and just came back 3 months later at PF70 Ultra Cameo...a perfect coin (£490 plus £65 grading fees). Only 10 PF70UC or DC graded in total thus far at NGC and PCGS respectively. Well worth the punt on grading from effectively a bullion coin buy plus a bit. A rarity. Not a massive win in the great scale of life but a nice result either way and a good chunk of bullionesque level British Sovereign gold
    A fun day

She is lookiing better the more ale I drink but all the birds always do  Joking aside, this is the first proof coin  I have of this year and to see it in PF 70 is engaging.

    Greetings everyone,
my name is Sebastian, I am from Germany and I am a casual stacker...
I am in my mid 40s, an IT professional living in the middle of nowhere, with a wonderful fiancee living far far away.
I first got interested in gold and silver investing around 2011, when I had regained some buying power after a long phase of bad luck which had cost me my life savings. Before that, my investment horizon had not gone beyond Sparbücher (savings accounts) and Bausparverträge (guaranteed mortgage savings accounts), though I vaguely remember signing for Infineon shares back then.
After reviewing the standard investment offers of my bank I dove deeper into how to build a portfolio. Within the depths of the internet I came across a mixture of gold and silver investors, preppers, conspiracy theorists and alternate investors. I learned about the history of money, the modern post gold standard financial system and globalization, I read my way through a mixed library on system criticism and precious metal investing. I sorted all this through to fit my personal requirements and experiences and in the end decided to build the cornerstone of my portfolio out of gold. It would have been real estate, but my job takes me to different locations every couple of years.
I decided on Wiener Philharmoniker as my standard investment coin, but soon my natural playfullness took over and I found myself amidst a mix of silver Pandas, Lunars, and everything that was hot at the time that I could get my hand on. I also developed a liking towards older trade coins, 20 Mark Deutsches Kaiserreich and 20 Franken Schweizer Vreneli specifically. I do like to touch my gold, and the latter are especially suited for that.
Time flies and I liquidated most of my stack (a matter of mislead loyality and personal idiocy). I was able to rebuild around 2015, and am now ready to put a monthly stream of money towards precious metals again. What stayed with me are my trade coins, a stack part which I already reinforced. My favourite coin is the Vreneli (20 Franken) due to it's design (I am in love), it's size, affordability and easyness of trade. I am just deciding what products to split my precious metals investment sum on. I am having the feeling that the precious metal landscape has changed since 2011, that all the more special items have become very mainstream. But that may just be my personal perception.
I am viewing gold as the mainstay of the security part of my portfolio. As far as I see it, Gold was, is and will always be the classic store for wealth. I of course have silver, but I list that within the speculative part of my portfolio (tagged preserving and speculative, to be precise). I may invest into some platinum as another speculative metal, given the current prices. Other than that I am trying to keep my portfolio balanced, containing enough liquid assets and different risk level stocks (fonds) invested in different parts of the world.
So this is it about me, my past experiences, what I learned and what I am doing at the moment, where precious metals are concerned...
    Thanks for your time

Very nice - there is some really good looking silver coming from the BYB silver pouring bench.
i saw a little piece BYB was fondling in the video where he visited the Edinburgh assay office - i call it the Illuminati bar. Here we see the bar against the Edinburgh landscape and then safe after its travels.

It is alleged this is a YouTube play button pocket piece - looks like an Illuminati bar to me.
Here we clearly see BYB throws a '666' as a sign of deference to the Illuminati bar before he flies off to Edinburgh -

Received this 2004 Proof Half Sovereign today which was still sealed 14 years on from being minted.  I promptly liberated it from its packaging.  I personally prefer the overall presentation of the Proof 2000 through to 2007 Sovereigns and half Sovereigns, than the later and preceding presentation.

I think the smaller weights are collectible. I have seen these 50gm ones sell around the 45-60 mark. The 100gm not as much unless they older ones.

That's very kind of them but few people would want one of them for each bullion coin they have. Makes storage a nightmare.

Picked up a 1910 Half Sovereign MS65 highest graded. Was up for £435 & got seller down to £399, they also agreed to change the listing to collectables so saved myself another 10%

I sold £7600 worth of my stock investment portfolio last Friday that I bought two weeks ago. I got a loss off £600 and I am pretty annoyd to myself.
The stocks portfolio was supposed to be a long term investment. However I got spooked about the developments in the trade war between China and US. Now that the CFO of Huawei has been arrested the stocks can only go down. I have now decided that I will hide my money under the mattress. I can re enter the stock market but only after I have seen it go down at least 5%

Sure, it was your avatar that confused me! 😉
I ask because I'm in my 6th decade of life and I don't know what is around the corner.
I always read 'for the long term' or 'for my kids' yet it's alien to me. I haven't had that option.
Wait. What? Gold has been available for ever so why are people stacking 'for the long term' now when there wasn't that option before?
It seems that silver and gold have become the greatest asset class available. Well, since 2011 that is.
Don't give your kids gold. They know less what to do with it than you do. Should they leave it to their kids?
Use your gold. Buy bricks and mortar and land when everyone else has to sell. Spend it when it's most wanted.
As for inheritance, don't die a rich man. 😉
