Got my 10oz today. 
No sign of my 5oz, 2oz or 2x1oz though which is a shame. Royal Mint saying orders complete on the 10oz, 5oz and the 2 x1oz 🤔. Phone call on Monday me thinks

I didn’t record myself unboxing it but I’ve taken some photos, although the lighting isn’t very good.
The coin is in great condition & I’m very pleased with it!

Well, number 2348 has landed! 😁 1oz silver proof, along with 2 bunc £5 coins…
Hope they show up in the post, not added any pictures here on the iPad before 🤔
 


 
hoping the marks visible are dust etc on the capsule - newbie question, is it ok to open capsule to view the surface of the coin? I know not to touch without cotton gloves, or at all if possible, but not sure about opening the capsule…? Thanks

My trade potential on here is limited, as most of what's going on is in the UK section. So when I saw a good deal available to me I took a plunge and traded. Actually it was a trade between two people who had no trade references so far, but it went well. I knew there was a degree of risk involved, as as a buyer I am fronting the trade, but I knew forum reputation would balance that risk. Even though we're anonymous here, we are actually not, because if we want to stay part of the community we have to retain the reputation of our alias.

Okay what the hell   i just bought afew of the 1oz ones guess i'll be collecting another set lol.

Indeed. I'm hopeful that having these to look forward to every few months will be enough to quench my thirst for silver hunting lol. I've spent quite a bit more than I intended to in the last week but as far as I'm concerned at the moment is that it's quality over quantity for now. I'll stack small amounts on the side maybe and I'm looking out for the jubilee bullion sovereign next year but that's it for my "big ticket" items.

So I finally took the leap.. I sent a complete stranger that I met on a forum, cash via bank transfer 😮
When you say it like that it does sound crazy & I must admit before discovering this forum, I would never of built up the confidence to do it!
I wanted to make this Topic to document my experience of buying gold on here & to help other newbies like myself understand the process better.
So here we go..
3 days ago (Thursday 7th October 2022) I decided I wanted to add a gold maple coin to my stack - My usual searches would start on eBay & google, however this time I decided to search it on here. 
All I did was type in ‘gold maple for sale’ in the search box 🔍 
Straight away I found someone selling one (happy to edit this & insert the persons name if they are happy for me to do so). It was slightly over the price that I wanted to pay but they were happy to drop. 
The seller then private messaged me their bank details. Before sending the funds over I clicked on their profile & found a section called - Trading Feedback. Here I could read feedback from other members & get a feel if they were trustworthy or not.
I then sent over the funds via bank transfer & replied with my address.
The seller then confirmed receipt of funds within 5 minutes & then an hour or so later sent me a photo of the coin packed up & ready to be sent.
I’ve never had this much transparency when buying online before & so far my first experience has been really satisfying!
The coin was posted the very next morning and I was provided a tracking number. Today is now Saturday 9th October & the coin is due to arrive today before 1pm.
I will update this thread when it arrives and take some photos of it 😍

2 of the 1oz proofs coins come today , very nice coins can’t wait for the test to come out 😂 

Personally, I treat PM’s as an alternative savings account… if I stuck some notes in a drawer, they’d be gone when the next interesting gadget appeared! 😁
But this way, I have the value without the easy spending ability- and they’re nice to look at and collect… was determined to just be a stacker, but have already been tempted my the charms of the more unique and semi-numismatic offerings - Have a 1oz proof Seymour Panther arriving later today 🤭😂
I’d also say it’s worth having an exit strategy too - how are you going to convert the stack in to actual money when you need / want to? Have read comments from many others on the forum on this subject, and it makes much sense.
Selling 100’s of ounce’s one by one on eBay and the like would give the best return, but only if done one by one or small amounts and would take an age! 😳
Once I have a reasonable amount (reasonable to me, that is) I plan to start selling some of the oddities or ones that are a single of a particular coin for example, using the funds generated to put towards different bullion, a proof or two or perhaps some gold?
One size never fits all, but generally, I’d say a way of getting out of your PM’s would be a good thing to establish sooner rather than later. If you already have a reputation for selling PM’s on whichever platform(s) you chose, it’ll be easier when the time comes to move a larger amount IMHO 😏

Just arrived this morning, much better in the flesh.... 

I thing for non stackers or collectors it would need to be an art piece. A simple bullion piece or collectors coin will not be grasped.
I would look for a piece of silverware, which would merge a traditional gift with silver - those are not cheap however 😬
