2003 Silver Proof 1oz $1 Kangaroo - "Jirrah-Watty"   Featuring a design by acclaimed Aboriginal artist Ray Thomas of the Gunnai people in Gippsland, Victoria, the coin depicts "Jirrah-Watty" – the Big Kangaroo – in full flight. With bold muscular line-work underscoring the animal’s power and predominance, a delicate finish applied to the background envelopes the horizon in a shimmering heat haze, along with the distant silhouettes of another stalwart of the outback, the grass tree. Ray Thomas spent many years researching his Gunnai people’s myths, legends, designs and body marks. The patterned line-work and motifs are characteristic of the indigenous peoples throughout South-East Australia.   The corresponding "frostie" has a raised polished image with frosted background and was crafted by Vladimir Gottwald, Engraver at the Royal Australian Mint   This proof kangaroo is, in my opinion, the clear number one of the entire Skippy collection. A truly and outstandingly beautiful coin - I hope it goes some way towards mitigation regarding my previous post.   I hereby close the case for the defence and appeal to the jury of my peers.

2011 RAM 1oz $1 Silver Proof Allied Rock Wallaby     The 2011 Royal Australian Mint Kangaroo  features the allied rock-wallaby. These marsupials are part of the macropod family, meaning ‘great footed’ and are found mainly in north-east Queensland and on the nearby Palm and Magnetic Islands.   There's not much more to be said about this somewhat underwhelming design by Wojciech Pietranik - a coin which is unlikely to be remembered as the most inspired of his creations. The detailing is, as always, excellent and remains a dependable factor in this series.   As @Peterheat mentions below - a case of poor taxidermy?

First time I’ve been tempted to buy a colourised coin since I started really collecting.
Just like anything with animals and thought these Wolves with a bit of added colour, were something different that might appeal to my kids collections.

I just can resist these ultra rare 2013 3-coin Strike on the Day sets, already own one but when this came up for sale I simply couldn't resist getting another!


Also another addition to the 1977 collection, a proof $1000 year of the snake proof. Have the bu already so this will go nicely with it. Off for ncs and grading first.

(Another!) 1921 Dos pesos in my struggle to complete the year set 😄 - fingers crossed this one gets an MS grade. The graded one you see is a superb coin, very sharp, but got a details grade for a apot removal 😩. New one looks very nice under the loupe, just a bit dirty 🤞

(Oh yes! It’s) The Great Pretender! 😂, as well as a beautiful condition Chile 100 Pesos and a nice Proof Sovereign Three Coin Set. 
Three different compositions of Gold, .986; .9167 & .900 loveliness.
At first glance, its improbable that the 4 Ducats is the lightest of these big boys and the Cien Pesos the heaviest 🙃
 

Today I received the last 1oz Silver Kookaburra that I needed to complete a full date run from 1990 to 2020. 

This arrived just now....  I am trying to complete the collection before White Greyhound is released and pushes the premiums up on the previous coins released in the series.
