Saved and sold a lot of my other coins to get this one, and what a beauty! 1826 George IV Sovereign Proof NGC PF66UC.

Decent grade and well struck George V silver is surprisingly difficult to find unfortunately the major auction houses seemed to have started to realise this and estimates for quality examples are going up - and I haven't completed my set yet

Postman making me a happy chappy today
Some reasonably high grade half crowns- 1888 Victoria and 1915 and 1916 KGV. The 1916 has a lovely dark toning to it and better eye appeal, but I think the 1915 is in better condition so decided to put that one in the folder- tough decision really.
An ok 1821 crown but with a few obverse scratches that are quite deep.
Larger than crown sized German 5 mark from the state of Wuerttemberg great condition for the age and size and a lovely feel to it.

been a good day, finally my MS64 1885 1/2p came to go beside my PF64 1885 Proof of Record 1/2p. Interesting to see the difference... Photos lightened slightly to see the detail, the proof really needs to be in hand to see the lustre:

Well the last of my auction wins arrived today, need to place some more bids on stuff that's ending tomorrow.
Got these two .500 silver shillings, a 1939 dated Scottish and a 1945 dated English versions, production of each type for these years are as follows,
    1939 dated Scottish  10,263,800 minted
    1945 dated English    15,143,400 minted

And these two, there its lots of lustre on both of these but its hard to show in the pics, and the tiny 10 Cent coin you can see all the tiny stress cracks from when it was made when its highly magnified.
These were bargain wins, with both for under £5
These are United States of America Philippines 1944 dated .750 silver coins, pre 1941 dated coins are harder to come by as nearly all were dumped into the sea to stop the Japanese getting hold of silver and other useful metals that they were seriously short of when they invaded the Philippines , so any found are usually in bad condition from being under the sea, with the islands being retaken by the USA in 1944, production was restarted to equip the country with currency again, the coins be produced by the Denver Mint, production for the two denominations are as follows,
    1944 dated 10 Centavos    31,592,000 minted
    1944 dated 20 Centavos   28,596,000 minted

Couple more crowns for the collection
Proper money not like the tat we have today!
Was trying to find something about wages or prices in 1819 to see what a crown would've bought back then/ how long the average worker would've worked to earn a crown but didn't have any luck.
2 pretty average condition crowns but looks great in the folder and 2 more ticked off

I keep having to make sure MrsST doesn't see these - she saw one in a magazine and so far my 'its on one off, and not worth it based on scrap value' is working

Freshly back from grading two US pre 1933 coins. One half eagle and one quarter eagle. Great grade on the 1905 but super pleased the 1913 is genuine and not details. The hunt goes on....

These are impressive coins although looking at the top Registry Set and the census decent UNC examples seem to be a bit of a challenge.

In my view putting together sets of quality early 20th century silver from lots of places in the world is surprisingly difficult, including Edward VII and George V, and a well worth long term project
    - pity the Napoleonic period was early 19th century as my funds would go much further! Although I may need some 'side projects'
  23. Thanks

Been waiting on flips for a few days now so had a pile of smaller silvers ready for 22.5mm flips.
There's a little bit of everything here, some nice Russian and Bulgarian coins including an almost proof looking 1913 50 Stotinki.
Some pre-German empire coins and the strangest and most precise silver quantity coin I own! A .4375 silver content Austrian Kreuzer!
A very nice KGV Australia 6 Pence with very strong detail on both reverse and obverse and some nice toning to it !@SILVERFINGER
A couple of Billon coins (I still count these as silver) Inc a 5 rappen 1873.
And my favourite... and quite topical at the moment coin 😂- a 1915 1 Korona HUNGARY (just noticed not Austria!) coin with stunning rainbow toning. Very hard to capture the extent of this beautiful obverse toning, but although the condition isn't amazing, the toning makes this coin very beautiful to look at.

Recieved a very pricey bit of silver! This medal was supplied with Patek Philippe watches on thier 150th anniversery in 1989 - I have not been able to find out if all watches had one or just some models.... Its 35 grams of sterling.. But the silver value is irrelevant in its value as an item in this case... Its two of my obsessions in one package so i had to have it! Plus i know i will never get a Patek watch so this will have to do
