1873 Shield - Unrecorded Die 23
 

1873 Shield - Unrecorded Die number 24. There is a large gap in the die numbers for this year from 23 - 100 with only 2 being found in between. This die number wasn't found by the Bentley collector either, it's assumed that Marsh's records are incorrect for these large runs of gaps that he claimed existed from RM and other records.
It's nice to improve upon other cataloguers records with new additions!
Some overstamp on the 2 in die number also, can't check it further right now as don't have scope handy

Three more KOMSCO Korean designs - the 2016 Cheonwang (needed to backfill...), 2018 Ze Sin Canis and 2019 Ze Sin Scrofa. For the Korean collectors....my ghost Scrofas are on their way (love that ghost incuse design). 
Well impressed with the Mandala Rhino / stunning design but very tough to get a perfect coin with that plain glossy field.  
Finally - not so happy...as these two proof 2018 Gold Libertads both ordered new from Apmex have small red spots already😱. Not impressed, as these carry a heavy premium and should be (literally..) spotless. They are going back to Apmex ...as i want to grade them ! 
 Am i expecting too much from Apmex? I don’t think so...
anyone else had problems with the gold 2018 Lib proofs ?

Wind the clock back to February 10th, I’m awake at 0400am, and notice a new post in this thread...a 1oz Privy Kookaburra I hadn’t got!!
I sent a quick PM to CoinStruck to ask if he could tell me where he had sourced the coin from, as I had never seen it before..A few minutes later I get a reply...’If You want one, I can pop back and get you one’!.yes, he was actually at the Perth Money Expo!!!
Not knowing if it was going to be easy for other forum members to get this coin, I bought a spare one, and today they have arrived in the post...all safe and sound with no dreaded surcharge etc...😀.

received my buys from @arshimo2012 and @MikeSol  , well happy with them - all less than a price of a gruffalo , i know what i would rather have.

Today I received a 2019 silver penny from the Royal Mint’s celebratory baby cards series.
In previous years the portcullis with chains has been used on the silver one penny coins in these packs (rather than the current circulating version of the 1p which features part of the shield).  This year the Royal Mint have gone to the trouble of redesigning this one penny coin by moving the date from the obverse and putting it on the reverse under the portcullis (where the “1” used to be) - but the marketing department does not seem to have told anyone about this.
Interestingly, the “good luck” pack contains a copper one penny coin but with the standard partial shield design – I do think the Royal Mint missed an opportunity to replicate the new design on the copper version of the coin.
