I love this post because of the perfect phrasing, grammar, and punctuation (besides the content itself!)
I am a stickler for this, and I don’t mean to come across as a snob, but it really makes me happy to see English used as such, especially on the internet. And while I don’t go about calling people out on their imperfect writing (as I understand it may be because English is not their first language; and in any case, who am I to judge!), I do dish out a compliment when the opportunity arises.

Yeah seems to be. There’s a bunch of 2012 still in hattons but there were a lot more minted than 2002/2005.
goldsovereignexpert have a 2002 proof for £380 (no coa).  Not sure if that’s a good deal but judging by eBay about £450 for a proof seems resasonable

Please don't get it slabbed, coins this old look bloody awful in plastic coffins. I have seen it done to far too many Saxon/Norse hammered coins and it really drives me (and many others) crazy.
It would also in my experience make little difference to price or desirability if and when you came to sell it. The vast majority of collectors to which this coin would be of interest are what I would describe as being traditionalist. They tend to be older individuals for which the joy of collecting is to be able to hold a coin which was struck 500-600 years ago, to be able to have a direct connection into the past. These types of of collectors do not attach a great deal of value to a few letters, a number and a plastic case.
At the end of the day it is your coin, so do as you please. But if I was you, I would get an nice mahogany coin cabinet commissioned with plenty of room (to expand in time...) to display what is a fascinating coin and to most importantly enjoy it.

The pictures show it toned but it's actually perfect silvery
Edit :  ..this is a great dealer.  He says just keep it and i'll get a refund.
Update: I decided to just accept $5 refund to cover my shipping cost when I resell  I don't want to take advantage

After a long day at work, its nice to come home to the one's I love...the Silver Variety that is.   Here we have a nice set of Birmingham 1922 Rat Tail teaspoons/coffee spoons made by Docker & Burn in fab condition,  a 1892 Zar South Africa 2 1/2 Shillings Coin and another 1922 Peace Dollar for the stack.  All bought for a low price from same seller on eBay who also combined postage, fantastic deal late on Sunday night, unloved by other bidders, their loss my gain.
A small stack of mixed  BU Silver coins, thanks @arshimo2012.
And some nice capsules for my soon to arrive QB's in the Group Order, thankyou @BackyardBullion for organising the order.
As well as a Valentines gift for the other one I love, with thanks to @SilverStan  who beautifully crafted this Silver Heart which is destined for my wife to hopefully keep things sweet and enable my new found love affair to continue!

    Some more antique silver:

1849 gothic florin. The inscription omitted the traditional Dei Gra (by God's grace) so these were dubbed godless florins.

Plus an 1818 George III shilling (I think)

perhaps one to send off for grading...

76 in total. Around that yeah. I find that it's a very good way to get cheap silver if you don't mind storing it. Also makes it more interesting as you can build up a nice collection of pre-decimal coins.

Something a little different, adding to my collection of literature.
Wilson & Rasmussen - English pattern trial and proof coins in gold
The Bentley Collection - The Ultimate British Sovereign Collection - Complete 3 auction limited edition volume

The Bentley collection book is a compilation of the 3 auctions, including other interesting facts and Appendices including realised prices, die number tables etc. Approx 450 pages, a true monster and a must have record!

Hi All.  I was drawn to this particular coin because I absolutely love the design on the reverse of old British Trade Dollars (I bought several of these at auction between Christmas & New Year, (I have one of them for sale currently)), and this Oriental Design Britannia is clearly inspired by that coin.
I had similar reservations of the lettering, but given the overall aesthetic (and the fact that I had spent so many hours drooling over the damn thing on different websites!) I took the plunge, given only a £7 premium over the 2018 Britannia, and notwithstanding a reasonably low mintage of 5000.   I should acknowledge however,  that  my initial plan for my first Gold 1oz'er was to buy from the secondary market close to spot! so I have blown the budget and I should disclose (looks around to make sure the wife isn't looking over my shoulder), I did buy two of these!
My observations are, in hand as opposed to seeing it blown up in the photo's,  the lettering/numbers are not that prominent as they blend into the radial design.  The 'Britannia' lettering/ numbers look fresh and modern looking and the radial design really emphasises the Oriental Border and allows Britannia to stand out prominently.
Judging by the amount of 'likes' here, this is a popular design on the Silver Forum and lots of chatter about buying them in the group order, so I am encouraged that the two I have bought might make/keep a bit of a premium in a few years time and as a footnote, I wish I had a suitcase full.   At at the end of the day they are bullion coins that I have bought to hopefully help my retirement be a little bit more comfortable, 17 years to go!

It's illegal to deface the monarch's effigy on currency alas (even by the Mint), otherwise I would draw little moustaches on all my notes (which I would obviously never, ever do)
