Indeed, why would they be described as such, I mean, it's not like they went around vandalising private property and then joined the British Union of Fascists.

So when this coming out?  I can not find any information anywhere,  I don't want to get the typical Royal Mint email that tells you it's out 3 hours after they have all sold out.
BTW did anyone else get that sickly Royal Mint grovelling apology email yesterday about coins taking so long to be delivered?   Reading between the lines it looks like a precursor to more delays.
@Foster88 Why should you be the authority on how long a thread should run? These threads are a good source of information for coin collectors. I bought enough 50'ps to call myself a genuine 50p collector I am happy to buy the coin and support you and your cause, I do not think this thread has run it's course.

I have no doubt there are logistic issues with obtaining silver or blanks. It still doesn't explain why i am now in month 3 of waiting for my Britannia purchase whilst the RM are sending out coins (utilising the same blanks) that went on sale after i made my order....
I just appears to be very random and amateurish. ☹️

Possibly related (?) the David Walliams Gibraltar 50p coins are now available in very limited numbers, the first one being The Boy in the Dress:

Despite you mocking my intelligence, which you have no knowledge of, my non binary 50p was a direct reply to another comment stating it was a 50p which identifies as a £5 coin.
I also stated I don’t have anything against anyone being who they are.

Humour is humour and can be directed to anyone, it has been that way for a long time.
are the only jokes about people now allowed towards straight white men ?
For what it is worth and to inform you, I have friends who are gay and we take the mick out of each other all the time. I worked in a gay pub for 2 years so probably have a far greater idea of what the community has gone through.
I am about the most tolerant person you will find, if my comments have been taken the wrong way or as anything but a light joke then that is YOUR problem.
the coin is sh@t and a blatant attempt at the royal mint to appear politically correct to appease all the squealers like you

The coin looks a bit average to me.
With the colourised coins I get the impression that the colours will eventually fade and they end up looking worse than a milk spotted silver coin.
In all honesty I find the rainbow symbol can be a bit confusing because I associate it more with Greenpeace from back in the 80s than the nowadays pride movement, I guess it's a generational thing!

I posted about this a few weeks ago, and had to ask Admins to remove it, as I had mistaken the embargo date, but now I can repost this to go on with:
    Celebrate with Pride -
Introducing the Pride UK 50p Coin

    According to the Royal Mint:
Built on the core values of visibility, unity and equality, Pride UK is one of the most enduring cultural movements in the United Kingdom. Over the years, the event has evolved from a political protest into a vibrant celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, making Pride UK a true highlight of the UK’s annual events calendar.
Now in its 50th year, Pride UK is more popular than ever, uniting LGBTQ+ communities nationwide in a colourful celebration of positivity, solidarity and inclusivity. In honour of this historic milestone, we celebrate the legacy of Pride UK with a new commemorative UK 50p design created by the artist, writer and LGBTQ+ activist Dominique Holmes.
Featuring Dominique’s evocative artwork, the coin encompasses the very essence of Pride’s history in the UK and marks the first time we have celebrated the UK’s LGBTQ+ community on a UK coin. Made with support from Pride in London, this release is not only a celebration of Pride UK but also a numismatic tribute to the indomitable spirit of the UK’s LGBTQ+ community.
The 50th Anniversary of Pride UK 50p Coin will be launching this summer. Don’t miss your chance to own this piece of numismatic history – join the celebration by registering your interest today and receive priority updates about this wonderful new release.
The page is a "Register Your Interest" page
I think the obvious silver proof coloured version shown looks great, although I think any monochrome versions will look quite ordinary.

Dave, have you had any older coins that you've 'conserved' graded yet like that Sov?
I know people who do their own conservation on modern proofs and manage to get the grades up. But I wonder if NGC etc would call these cleaned, not because of any evidence, just because they look far too good and clean to have survived 'naturally' like that.

kimchi reacted to BullionMan89 in Recent Coin Auction Results - Sellers Achieving only £1320/ oz for proof gold
I am speaking generally on auctions rather than about this company specifically as I am not familiar with all of their fees and practices but having looked at auctions in some detail I am amazed anybody buys or sells in this manner, especially when it comes to gold and the fine margins often involved there.
The final price of most items is often significantly suppressed by the buyer's premiums to begin with and then the seller gets charged fees as well. It seems quite difficult for a buyer to get a bargain once they've paid the (often) exorbitant fees and things are even worse for sellers as already discussed.
Maybe I'm missing something but I do wonder why anybody bothers most of the time.

@kimchi  Yes I’ve had some sovereigns graded and had some mega results.  The dreaded “details” can be where someone has taken a polishing cloth or used cotton buds and there’s obvious swirl marks, or polished high points.   Seen on older silvers “altered surface”
I will be putting in a few 1/2 bullion sovereigns in for grading in my next batch not expecting silly high grades.  I would not do old silver.
Just did  the bullion silver rounds for fun to see the difference, I’m doing a silver proof set this evening as this is has toned quite bad and got grotty, I will conserve modern silver proof coins as it does make them more appealing.
