Ive done some analysis myself this morning, and this chart clearly shows gold is likely to go down or possibly up very soon

Gold got hammered last night its rising in anticipation of the FOMC just green since last night. I am expecting gold to go down after the FOMC. Hes just gonna pause, not hike. If he hikes it going to be financial suicide for the FED and the markets, given the yeilds and the Yen is getting crushed by the strength of the dollar.

Not for I, said the fly
I'm not buying anything at launch from RM for the foreseeable
There's super bargains to be had currently, spots gone well up, market sentiment and demand for big gold proofs is rock bottom
Buy today and hold could be brilliant if you can ignore current values and trust your gut

Some are going to do better than others over time. I forgot the platinum jubilee SOTD when Ive got three ms70s sat in safe deposit box.
I think the major attraction point of these SOTD is the comparison to the mintages of the proof coins of the same year/design
There's relative loads of proofs coins available compared to the SOTD mintages for 2017 plat jubilee and coronation which look very limited in number.
Wether the collector market sees this as attractive long term remains to be seen. But I'm happy to have a sneaky punt on the long term to hold
Once there's 20+ years of history to these days SOTDs we will see
Again, it's all learning and diversifying

The SOTD series is certainly interesting as it builds. The 2017 and this year's coronation should be seen as the best thus far.
The brexit SOTD may have its day in decades to come, possibly?
They may sink or swim as a series, but RM don't look like they intending on dropping it anytime soon, seeing as they can wheel the SOTD out for anything of significance
Pick em up if you can find any cheap

Paul reacted to JohnA1 in Banking app: go paperless or stop using it
Tried to log on to the Barclays app this morning, it pestered me to go paperless - tried to bypass it, nope.
Closed the app, started again - back to the paperless declaration. It suddenly became a condition of use.
If you don't "agree" to go paperless, no app for you..🤬
Paperless means you have no way to prove anything at any time. It is their printed figures against your verbal claims.
I see this as another part of the preparation for an extended bank holiday where a lot of 'wealth' will change hands.
Bastids..

I personally wouldn’t buy a KC 75th birthday sotd.
In my view the 3 key dates are the 2017 200th anniversary, the platinum jubilee and the coronation SOTD sovs which I have in MS70.
For the rest they are on my skip list but there is a growing community of collectors picking these up and some of the issues are very low mintage so might end up being in a tight spot like the 2016 5 sovs in years to come.

The Brexit SOTD is the only sovereign with a Privy Mark that I have bought. Initially, I gave it a miss - the price went up to £800 and the mintage went up to 1,500. However, whether you like it or not, Brexit was a significant event, and I eventually relented and bought an MS70 on this Forum.
I think I would add another to the "must have" list, namely, the 6th February 2022 Platinum Jubilee SOTD. But I do fear that the sheer variety of gold coins released for this event may overshadow it.

Not sure what all this talk of down is about? Yesterday was barely a pause!
More US assets are arriving in the region daily, and the big ones will all be in place by the weekend... Up to now, a slow boil has been underway (no doubt directed by US planners), trying not to raise worldwide reactions too quickly before a strong defensive position can be managed. But that status quo may not last, especially after all the big assets are in place. Next weekend will not in my opinion be a good time to be holding an open short in a closed gold market... Any downward action will therefore need to take place before Friday.

Paul got a reaction from ZigZag in Are we going to see smaller gold coins rise in popularity?
We are a funny bunch us stackers.
We were still moaning and groaning spot should be so much higher when it was £800z not so many years back
Why weren't we selling the family silver to stock up on gold if we knew it was going to double in next 6-7 years
Now I'm a good decade and half into this stacking experiment I now come to realise most folk are only ever on "now o'clock"
I will still be buying, these prices now as just "the new normal" ultimately, I'm converting depreciating fiat into gold
net results, i will have an increased holding of gold. than I did last month
Spot can do what it likes, it will only be relevant when it comes to time I choose to cash out in my twilight years, in 20+ years time
If the steady uptrend in gold continues & unlimited fiat printed funny money printed we should be around the £10,000oz by then (hopefully)
