Had my coins back from NGC. I sent in 29 coins,  28 of which obtained the top grade. Spot the lonely PF69!
I'm extremely happy and relieved, I was expecting a few PF70 but not 28 of them 🤣

Thankfully, all 4 graded PF70 Ultra Cameo, after conservation. Money very well spent. Needless to say, I'm very happy

The tarnishing on my quarter sovereigns was visible at all angles. I also checked it if was on the surface of the capsule, though it wasn't. I don't open any of my proof capsule's, so wouldn't have known if this developed on the inside after a few months.
Also of note is that the NGC Photovision plus (the imaging service used above) takes the photos before any conservation or grading is done, so this isn't conservation work removing the tarnishes (yet!?).

    Update!
I have a few dozen coins in the process of being graded. I've just had the high resolution images back, which is a step that's done before conservation or grading.
I noted in my opening post that some  of my quarter sovereigns had developed tarnishing/orange spots, I was fully expecting to see these on the high resolution images, though it seems to have disappeared! The only logical explanation is that the orange discolouring developed ON the royal mint proof coin capsule.
As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I didn't ever remove the coins from the capsules, so wouldn't have noticed if these marks were actually on the coin vs on the capsule (plus hard to tell on such tiny coins!)
I've attached my 4 quarter sovereigns in case anyone is interested (compare with my image from my opening post)

It'll be incredibly interesting to see how this plays out. If us stackers are right and the £ does hyperinflate, will the government try and confiscate gold? Or will they simply allow property sales to go through (through official channels) with gold being offered instead of fiat?

I agree with a lot in this article.
Definately not the tax angle - it only applies to land owned by someone else.
Historically allodial titles were typically obtained by paying in real money (gold). "paying" using someone else's debt instruments leads to inferior titles, where you are way down the totem pole and the real owner collects taxes/charges etc

I'd recommend trying to think of gold only in oz terms. Tying it to a £ value will become increasingly irrelevant as the currency continues it's inevitable collapse. The closer we get to the collapse, gold will quickly gain frightening amounts. Whilst a 1oz gold coin being worth £10k may sound amazing, in reality it's still 1oz gold, it's just a sign the currency is about to fall over.
The big question is what value gold gets assigned in the new monetary systems that will be setup with the coming collapse of the £, $ etc.

    Hello All,
I'm just about done with packaging my coins, but have the 50p set left. I just wanted to confirm if it's usual to get both coins encapsulated separately? Perhaps this is required, since they may not grade the same? I've seen some "joint" NGC capsules with two coins of a set within a double capsule.
Looking around on ebay/coin cabinet auctions I can only see the coins in separate capsules, though wanted to check on here.
I've attached an image of my coin set.

    Thanks!

Update on this, I finally got round to completing my NGC submission! I've sent off a small fortune in value via fedex, in multiple shipments, as this was the only courier I could find that would insure a package up to £10k for each package.
I'm hoping mine doesn't take 86 days, as this would mean it would be January before I have my precious back!
Is it normal to be very excited at the anticipation and expectation of high grades etc? I feel like a child again 😆
