Another thought on this is that it could expedite the phasing out of UK coinage too.
However far away that is, I wonder if it would have any impact on the CGT exemptions on legal tender.

Thanks. This hobby just goes deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole, when you need to monitor royal proclamations.
These two are interesting. Not heard of these designs before.

Here's the proclamation, so it looks alike they are doing this one in all sizes - round ounces and 7-sided 50ps.

Good guess. (or insider knowledge?)
Bit of a tragic film to immortalise on a coin. But I can't think of any other vehicles that would do.
Craig era doesn't do gadget vehicles other than Astons.
There was a proclamation published yesterday: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4594824
(a) a depiction of James Bond driving a hovercraft set against a background of James Bond titles with the inscription “007”; or
(b) a depiction of the snow plane from the film Spectre set against a background of James Bond titles with the inscription “007”.

End of an era....by the way, it's mentioned the staff will be transferred to gold recycling works, which sounds RM will soon accept trade in of old cell phone to extract gold from it.
Anny J made the decision after seeing today's gold prices maybe.

Wow! Quite big news. According to their last annual report: "Overseas deliveries of coins and blanks amounted to 1.34 billion pieces in 28 countries."

If the intention was to hide the cert number, be aware that the barcode also contains that number and needs to be redacted too.

I've still not got the Pyx coins I ordered on 28 March. Emailed them for an ETA, email reply said they were doing a stock check last week and were supposed to be catching up on things this week. Still nothing 🙃
Same. I'm still waiting for a couple of the exciting never-released-to-the-public coins, so I hope they haven't lost them!

Yes, in the registration page, RM mentioned coins instead of coin.
I thought the title of this thread was a bit of a giveaway too 🤣

It's not silver, but it's the same colour...
I'm sure this Trial of the Pyx coin is cheaper than the original coin was?

Hi all,
I'm after a handful of impaired silver proof UK definitive coins, i.e. condition doesn't matter as long as they're sterling silver, but ideally the price would be a lot closer to spot than if they were perfect. Anything that is a 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 or £2 UK definitive would tick the box, although commemorative versions of those denominations would also be fine if cheap enough. Looking for 10+ coins ideally.
-or-
A single gold or platinum impaired proof definitive.
Let me know what's up for grabs!

Seems a reasonable price for the original version of the bar

Ooh, it will be a 50p depicting allied soldiers disembarking a landing craft, with the inscription "D-DAY 6 JUNE 1944 UTAH OMAHA GOLD JUNO SWORD".

Well that's very promising then! I wish my instance had gone like that 🤣
I actually filmed the entire process of my return, including packaging, travelling, and handing it over to the post office in a single take, so there could be no dispute that I had returned the item I received.

I think they're Vickers Mk VI tanks, so that coin will probably be something to do with the British Expeditionary Forces or the Battle of France in 1940.
