it's never about all in or nothing. the difference is gold bugs have the
option to sell their gold at a profit now and optionally move some of
the funds into silver. it's about strategy and manoeuvrability. it's about
being able to position yourself to better deal with an ever changing
future. silver bugs lost manoeuvrability when buying during the 2015
dip, they just don't recognise it.

i have heard members ask - if the price of silver goes up to £50 /oz, no-one will buy it - well how did it get to £50 /oz if people didn't buy it?
Bitcoin was a few cents in 2009 - the price of BTC has gone up a few 1000% and people keep buying.
My parents' first house was £1100 - people keep buying houses after they have gone up a few 1000%.
Gold was £325/ oz in the summer of 2007 - it is over £1400 now. 
i see spot silver is £12.74 and silver coins are changing hands for more than 50% more than that.
i'll worry about people not buying silver at £28 when it happens - i don't think it will be worrying when it does.

The 2020 gold Britannias we bought a few weeks ago:

Just an update on my original post and strategy, thanks to some great advice on here, especially @Roy - I have advised Theresa May to make him chancellor to sort out our debt crisis.
I will not be buying any more PMs until there is a clear indication of where they are headed. My AIM shares have been spiking in both directions so will be investing in FTSE for more stable returns and dividends. Will also invest in P2P lending where the rates seem are strong. Savings going well except for my new rescue cat who has medical issues - animals are not good for this plan to work properly. My wife is cheap so hopefully this cancels out the extra cost!
I have created lots of spread sheets and treat the plan like a business, studying its progress to keep my interest and motivation high. My next step is to find a 2nd income stream/job to compliment my full time job which will go straight into savings. This part is tricky with no practical skills.

A Paddington Bear

2018 Niue 5 oz Double Dragon, and a 10 oz 9 Fine Mint bar from APMEX. the bar is small in height and width, but about 3x as thick as an average 10 oz bar. Makes for a very satisfying chunk in your hand.  Also received 8 90% silver U.S. quarters.

My first order with @ElDoradoCoinsdotDe very happy. All present and correct, coin/cases in good nick, well packaged, will be using again.  

Also loving that the German for coin gloves is basically 'money hand-shoes'
