As a counter to this though, some people who ordered Friday have received their bars today.

Unfortunately some people from the forum posted the hack up in the Facebook groups and some whales orders 10's of thousands worth of the bars so suspect this morning they have realised straight away what happened.  Fingers crossed I guess, though I will be returning if I get charged the usual price, but they are notoriously slow on issuing refunds sometimes

I assume everyone is planning to keep these bars? Otherwise the the sales page will be 5g bars, several pages deep!!!!!!

just spoke with the mint on the phone they confirmed my order and the price and said they will send my bars out in 2 weeks time (xmas ones) guess tsf won

I paid £2560

The problem is how people will cope with such windfall. £10 profit is quite a lot of money, we need to start slowly, the first month a 5* trip to Caraibe to clear our mind...

£10 is also annoyingly short of the £11 required to buy another platinum jubilee 50p.

Even if they weren’t categorised as “gifts”, I think customers could collectively raise an issue if they were forced to accept the purchase at a higher price with no option to cancel or return?

That would be like some next level deviousness - offer bullion at or below spot, wait to get enough orders, say it was an error a few days after the fact, tell customers they have to accept the corrected price whether they like it or not.

I don’t see that happening; it’d be a huge PR disaster.
