Once upon a time, there was a drunken forum member who desperately needed a silver tankard to imbibe his beer from... along came his big-handed bert, who found the most exquisite large and heavy solid silver pint tankard anyone had ever seen. Described in detail as "beautiful, the shape is different, high quality Italian style. I can say that it is the most beautiful tankard I have ever had in my hand, thick and heavy" <he obviously meant the tankard, of course, not his hands!

"The tankard is fully hallmarked for Italian silver .800. This silver standard is very common in entire continental Europe, this alloy being considered the most resistant for silver flatware, for a long-lasting life. The weight is impressive, 375g, equivalent of 300g pure silver, with a melting value today of" ~£180.

"It was made by ARGENTERIA MALINVERNI from Milano between 1949 and 1970" < apparently, very slow workers!

 

Now that the forum member is into his eighth month of sober living, it's time for the Greatest Tankard in the World to go to a new home, to someone who will really appreciate it, for its form and functionality and drink lots of beer!

Starting Time and Date: Starts right now!

Starting Price: Let's start at spot and see where it goes... £180.00 

Ending Time and Date: 21:59:59 BST Sunday, 6th August - Any bids after this time will be considered, before being rejected publicly. The forum post timestamps will be used to determine the winner. Bid early (and often) to avoid disappointment.

Set Increments: Whole British pounds only, no spoons, barter tokens, offers of lap-dances, or any other tat which you may want to offer to trade (even for diversity).

Winning Bidder: The winning bidder is the person who has made the highest bid at the point the auction closes. In the event that the highest bidder pulls out or reneges on their final bid, I will contact second place, third place etc. accordingly. 

Shipping: Free Special Delivery will be included in final price (UK)
