Where Were You (and Gold) When John Lennon Died?

Recommended Posts

There are a few news items, and other moments in history, that almost everybody remember. This is one of them:

John Lennon Gunned Down

From our local "rag" The West Lancashire Evening Gazette

I had to correct a typo there, as I had got a "t" in Lancashire, instead of an "r". Freudian slip?

Central bankers are politicians disguised as economists or bankers. They’re either incompetent or liars. So, either way, you’re never going to get a valid answer.” - Peter Schiff

Yes I clocked your ad, wouldn’t have known it was your company if you hadn’t shown other magazine article in  the other thread. When did you change the company name? After 1980 obviously.
Incidentally, who’s phone number is pencilled in under your ad?or is that the safe combo?😄👍

Are 'Oppenheimer' still Blackpool's leading jewellers?

And are they still situated next to 'Nigel Holmes'...Blackpool's leading fashion shop for men of all ages'?

Such a superlative street, was Church St!

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live, and It's  Britannia, with one t and two n's.

Nigel Holmes now has just one store, in Lytham:

https://nigelholmesmenswear.co.uk/

You could find out more using some detective work.

I can confirm there are no branches in Baker Street.

No, but when it first opened in Blackpool, the music was all classical, except for "The Stripper" right at one end of the tape, which was quite amusing when there was anybody in a changing room.
