Royal Mint Confusion on James Bond History

I recently noticed that the Royal Mint were describing their "Diamonds are Forever" Bars as "Sean Connery's last Film outing as 007". As the film premiered in 1971 and Sean Connery re-appeared in 1983 as 007 in Never Say Never Again,I duly notified them of their ERROR and politely suggested they might "reward" me with just a silver 1oz Diamonds are Forever bar as it seemed quite a "Glaring" mistake on their part.They duly thanked me but said they would decline my "Reward" request.I do feel slightly miffed and why did I bother,but nevertheless wished to air this to forum members.Was my request unjustified?

Why dont you ask them to produce one of the real 1st james bond.....

Hi,The Royal Mint,IMO,should have carried out proper research in the first place so that the information was accurate to start with,therefore not in need of rectification.They undoubtedly have researchers paid to do this,not a  pensioner like myself who bothers to take the time to correct them.I don't think a £27 silver bar would necessarily cripple their annual profit and loss account.I didn't ask for a gold one.

Expecting to get a £35 (inc VAT) silver bar for pointing out a factual error on a website is a bit of a stretch in my opinion. No harm in asking though, hey! 

If Chards did that instead of offering free pints, I'd get busy and could probably upgrade to a gold bar by the stroke of midnight

I met Bob Holness once. Jolly nice chap, and I was impressed that he could tell a Spitfire was flying overhead without looking at it.

I do have a neat solution to the Cornish / Devon cream tea problem.

Cut the scone into two halves. Potentially upset both counties by buttering both halves, then add cream then jam to one half. To the other half add jam then cream. Put them together, and hey presto!

Just hope they will fit into your mouth.

If there is still any dispute about which half should be on top / bottom, turn the scone sideways. The downside of this is that it will be even harder to fit into mouth, in which case lie down, and get handy handmaiden or slave to feed it to you, Roman style.
