Cast gold bars in smaller weights

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I’ve been having a look at cast bars, more out of curiosity then anything and I much prefer the look of them over minted bars sealed in plastic.

Is anyone aware of them being available in smaller weights, 20g, 40g etc. I imagine a 10g cast gold bars would be too small.

I see Bairds sell them but the smallest weight they do is 50g cast bars.

I would be more inclined to gift a 1 Oz gold coin within some nice prestation over a bar as a gift, but have on occasion bought smallish bars and some of those do have some charm, which seems missing in the carded (and much more forged/fake) versions.

A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.

Wish I could afford £1400 to give to my friends as gifts

When you get older and greyer you too may wish to consider what best you can do for your children and granchildren

- my generations government/s, globally, have arguably not left this world with the sort of future quality of life I/we enjoyed in the simpler enjoyable less monetary stress times :)

Well I'm old and grey now..but understand what you say...born in the 60's...growing up was fun and something I wouldn't swap for all the gold in the world..🙂

Next to a 1z Krug for comparison

That’s good to see.

If I was buying an oz of gold, looking at your photo I’d go for the cast bar over the Kruggerand.

It looks a nice firm hefty chunk to hold in your hands.... ok I’ll stop now but you get the picture. 😆

That yellow gold!!

Makes you realise you’re holding 999.9 gold.

I just don’t think you can get that with a minted bar in a piece of plastic. I might be wrong.

Having said that, I prefer sovereigns myself.
