Today I bought.....

Recommended Posts

My brother recently purchased a proof gold 50p from atkinsons. The thing that spins me out is no mention of purity or weight on the coin.

I think that those things are not important for RM as they are not selling it as a bullion coin. It's easy enough to look them up and see just under 1/2oz ))

Thanks to the forum members who recently purchased any gold from me, today I bought my newest ever car. A 2005 Ford Focus. And of course the colour just had to be silver. (,picking it up tomorrow night)

Well done. That just shows the savings power of pm. Creating wealth from cash that would otherwise be spent on nothing at all.

That just proves what we have all been trying to achieve,an accumulation of wealth, an alternative bank account, well done HT and thanks for the half sovereigns.

Plus the fact it's a bit more fun stacking gold and silver than just going to the bank where the temptation of an ATM can be very strong at times :)

Well, I'm not very good at this "stacking lark"!!!

I promised myself that my goal of 10 full sovereigns would all be bullion, but I only managed one bullion sovereign as I just bought a 1980 proof in box with COA.

Excited to see it, but annoyed I couldn't stick with the programme [emoji1]

Nice purchase K, the 2007 seems to command quite a premium lately, I think it's my favourite now.

Thanks Danny, i would like to get all the years. But this is going to be an expensive venture.

Yes, it seems they are getting quite expensive now, but the deals are out there to be had if you are patient.

They do look fantastic together as a set though, well worth going for.

I got it for under 50 euro Danny. That's cheap if you compare it to ebay prices.
Also bought a 2010 Kookaburra, some 40mm capsules and a empty ASE tube.

That is good mate, a couple just finishing on eBay in the next hour or so currently at between £40 and £50. Ouch.

You'll need the kookaburra date run now too, although I prefer the Britannia run [emoji12]

Hi Madhatter

Its a 1937 coronation proof set

It looks like a part proof set as you summise yourself. The 3 coins you identifiy are proof and that brass threepence looks so too. Don' think the others are though. I would split it, it would cost too much to make the set back up with proofs and it would probably be only worth about £250 -300 if it was perfect and complete.

The maundy money is quite difficult to get probably the reason it's missing.
