Nah, I'm giving it a miss. With that mintage I cannot see a great secondary market appreciation. Which is the only reason I would have considered buying one.

Maybe Snowman 2 will be a more attractive proposition. And I see they want to release something of William Wyon? That could potentially be something interesting with a Victoria young head portrait...

Zero problem getting on site. In stock. May pick one up in the secondary when the price comes down. 25,000 mintage. The BU packaging is a fun gimmick but not for me at £10. Will never get your money back.

I went and bought from the Coin Connection which is cheaper anyway then the RM. With the coupon code from Numistacker YouTube channel it's like getting a free coin depending on what you purchase. 🙂

They won't be circulated so you might.   The snowmen BU seems to go for around £15 now.

Well after looking at the mintage of this particular presentation (25,000) I will wait until the Royal Mint comes out with another coin and stamp or coin and book set. The overall mintage is 27,500 so I suspect they'll do something similar like they did recently with the Gruffalo.

Gold 50p is coming up to a sellout

Mintage is slightly higher than I would like but we are talking about maybe 100 coins over what would have been a home run which is pretty small really and will be absorbed by the market of those who just like W&G everything. Its a first and thats a positive thing too. Price has been creeping up on these at the mint and is potentially too high for the current Sterling Gold price but I bought two of these and will of course have them graded. My expectation is that with an NGC 70 grade these will trade at about £1100 to £1300 possibly mostly in the middle to account for dealing costs.

May not be the best business transaction in the world - but i do like the design.

personally think the design looks ok in colour but bloody awful on the bunc and gold versions; the eyes look weird.

It only took just over a day on the RM website. There's still a few dealer's with stock.
