there comes a point where you are so sick and tired of something that you just want to liquidate it at any price and happy to take a big loss just to get rid of it and out of your mind. It's the sort of sentiment that is pervasive at the bottom of a bear market.
I honestly think we'll look back on the OP and say "that was the moment we knew the bottom was in."

I've been thinking about this and my suspicion is that pretty much no matter what the outcome Sterling will recover.
Any decision may be better for Sterling than the current uncertainty.   
 
 

I missed this. But just to answer your questions:
- I don’t just collect PM’s - I invest in lots of asset classes and run a couple of businesses outside of my main job.  Almost all of my investments are long term 10+ years  
- For my kids - because I want them to have a better life than I have had with better early opportunities rather than doing it the hard way. My kids can sell PM’s, properties, investments etc that I leave them and chose what they want to do with the money.
- Bricks and mortar are part of any investment strategy but it’s about balance, and PM’s give a little of that.

Unless you needed cash for something immediate (in which case, you made stacker mistake #1 and didn't build a cash reserve) makes no sense at all. Just shows the breathtaking misunderstanding of the role of gold, even amongst many so-called stackers.

Looks like it is about to complete a basing pattern. We are just touching the 200dma, the 50dma is well behind us and beginning to turn up.
Last time this happened was in Aug 2017, unfortunately it did not mark the start of a new uptrend back then, but maybe it will do so this time.

With the gold silver ratio at as near as dammit 80, time to pick up some old fashioned silver. 10oz bar for 15.50 gbp/oz delivered.That's about $21/oz for our cousins across the ocean. It has been a very very long time since I just bought a chunk of raw silver.
