"Only hold as much gold as your understanding allows"
Post Brexit the £ will likely crash again, Carney will see to it as he did straight after the vote in 2016 - he QE'd and knocked interest rates down losing us a sickening amount of purchasing power in sterling. Those in gold saw a relative increase in their purchasing power of their savings relative to houses, stocks, anything priced in sterling that didn't move higher right away.
Measured in sterling house prices have not done much around here. Measured in gold houses have crashed since December 2015. I sold most of my gold after Brexit and bought.

These three all look from early to mid 20th Century. More inspection would cut this down to 20-30 years and identify the mints responsible.
Maria Theresia Taler are great coins to collect and range from 1741 to 1780. After the death of Maria Theresia in 1780 all subsequent Talers with her image were dated 1780 and are still minted today with this date at the Austrian mint.
Subtle differences identify the different mints that produced them and original non restricted 1780 coins are few and far between.
There is a tremendous amount of history linked with this coin that is thought to be the fore runner to the dollar, used for trading throughout the world, and minted in Vienna, London, Birmingham, Paris, Milan, Bombay to name but a few.
Check out this site but be prepared for an addiction. Sorry for the rant

New acquisition arrived today, great asset but a bit costly. Easy to use and I have already weeded out some of those fake commemorative gems. Luckily the few I had doubts about proved to be genuine

He most certainly does like hands. I was drawn to the Trust sculpture whilst I walked past an art gallery window. It had a lot of meaning to my wife when she saw it as it reminded her of when I looked after her when she was ill. I stayed off work at the time and wouldn't leave her side.
And there's me thinking it just looked nice

I buy art to look at and enjoy.
I never buy from any swanky dealer, most of my art has come from young artists or out of fashion artists who i like.  It's quite funny how a so called experts opinion can carry so much weight, I bought a painting direct from an Artist who i know who is quite well known it is signed it has a receipt and a letter, a so called expert reviewed the painting and proclaimed it a fake which i know it isn't as i had bought it and seen the artist paint some of the painting.   I had to get the Artist to directly tell the 'expert' that it wasn't a fake, so there you have it the experts are not so expert.
Opinions are everything in art,  'a rich mans opinion is worth a lot of weight, 2 rich mens opinions are worth even more and 3 even more, the quality of the painting is secondary'.

Not my ideal choice (i've had bad experiences in the past with them - if Atkinsons had what I wanted i'd go with them 100%) but I was looking for an older example as all I could seemingly find was 2018 examples.
Should also say it was more expensive because it was a specific year, but personally I couldn't care less, i'd sooner pay more for a year I wanted than a decent price for something I didn't

Bought 2 Sovereigns from Chards today, added them to an order i have; this is a good way of saving on postage if you are already waiting on an order from them.  I had a problem with the order link they sent me but it was sorted quickly i paid by BT instead.
Not sure how many they would allow you to add though.

On holiday so no silver unboxing for me until next week. But in the meantime I picked up some old pennies that might make for interesting coin-ring practice:

Nice set, over the years I have had the fortune to be able to obtain a few of these sets which I am very proud of!! . It does disappoint me when I see a set being broken up though I do understand why it is done.

I just like to add, HMRC can now use RIPA this covers all taxable assets you may hold not just Blockchain and IOM etc.  Worse anyone who has children and gets top-up working tax credits can get investigated from both HMRC the benefits office. Both can use RIPA.
At the same time if you have mined bit coin they are not worth anything until you convert them into fiat and you  may buy works of art or gold on holiday with your bitcoin.

I would like to thank @sixgun for starting this thread and giving us the heads up a potential investment.
Kenisis, I can not get my head around the fact of the following =  Apart from its a business that has decided to use 'blockchain technology' thats it  then uses Gold silver backed tockens so the investor can use a credit/debit card against  Precious metal .  This sounds the same as other companies well Goldmoney.
I have been looking at Kenisis over the last couple of days, it could make investors a lot of money,  but it is not a unique investment IMO.  Plus it comes with big risks My advise is if you are prepared to lose ALL your investment and you like this company then give it a go. If you are not prepared to take risks, If you would like a debit card backed by gold then open an account with Goldmoney and and start looking at some of the big miners who are all looking into Blockchain technology
