  1. “A man’s right to work as he will, to spend what he earns, to own property, to have the state as servant and not as master—these are the British inheritance.”

This is the correct answer, of course, but don't forget to factor in postage costs.
  3. Yes, buying a share in a company is the same as buying a derivative. I don't want to own it and take delivery, I want to hold it until it appreciates and then sell it.
  4. When I buy shares in McDonald's should I expect a free delivery?
  5. It just pipped below £16 didn't it? Gold was steady, perhaps up? Just goes to highlight the importance of diversity. Don't keep all your eggs in one monsterbox
  6. He's not. Read it again. Regards.
  7. Yes, I would. Saving up to buy a full ounce is fraught with difficulty: sod's law says the price of gold will increase when your saving begins and the purchase of a full ounce gets further away. Your interests change, fickle as we are, and the savings get diverted elsewhere. God forbid, you're faced with an personal emergency or a family dilemma. The strategy I follow, and many others too, is to pound cost average. If you can afford a quarter now, buy one and start saving for the next. Don't worry about the spot price, it will balance out. Your stack will increase, you will feel more comfortable handling coins and making offers and you can trade your coins up and sideways. * @Tn21 will look after you.
  8. Ok, if this correct... What will we do with our gold? How do we convert it to a gold backed digital currency? Will it be revalued like 1933? Will we have to accept the government's potentially criminal exchange rates? Black markets?
  9. I've been adding platinum for a while, more so the past couple of weeks. But platinum is not a monetary metal like silver and gold. Just a commodity and taxed too! I buy it because of its historical relationship to gold, and I agree something does not add up!
  10. sixgun has said many things since 2017 and been mocked, but he sticks with his beliefs and has been rewarded for his patience and commitment 👍 I hope Kinesis pulls through, his patience must be tested here? What does six think of platinum?

  13. Yet, financially, it's probably the most mutually smart thing to do.
  14. That's unnecessarily harsh @LawrenceChard, We should encourage entrepreneurs. The member has been upfront and engaging where promoting his product and as enthusiasts/adults, we are capable of making our own decisions whether it's viable or not.
  15. It was the '70s, people wore their hair much longer back then 😁
  16. No problem here, I'm quite the cunning linguist you know! My first attempt was a seminal moment indeed, made me the man I am today 😊
  17. In Jan 1980, silver was £18.22 oz. In Jan 1990, it was £3.17 oz. In Jan 2000, it was £3.12 oz. In Feb 2010, it was £10.22 oz. In Jan 2020, it was £13.86 oz. Average Jan/Feb price over 4 decades is £9.70 oz. Is the price manipulated or is that fair market value?
  18. Have you ever tried to get your tongue around 'Machynlleth'?

Thanks for that Richard, I shall log out of Bullionvault immediately! 👍 Agreed, that was a missed opportunity.

@sixgun, you always cheer me up! I was looking through my vaulting records. In May 2020, I bought silver @ £11.97 oz. In May 2021, I bought silver @ £20.12 oz.

Silver is cheap! Good lord, it's dropped nearly £4 an ounce over the past few months.... I really want to buy some. PLEASE someone stop me! Tell me to pull myself together, give me a clip round the ear, whatever it takes to stop me from making the same old mistake over and over again
  22. I sold some gold yesterday and bought platinum today. It's all luck and it generally balances out 👍
  23. The New York State Quarter is a coin that everyone can afford to keep. Released in January 2001, it features the Statue of Liberty and the words, 'Gateway to Freedom'. The generation before me can always recall where they were when JFK was shot. September 11, 2001 is another example. 'The day the world changed'
