My guess is yes it will break 1450 - why?
The EU Meets in mid-July where there will by a bun fight around the bailout that will be in the region of EUR750B to EUR1T. They won’t be arguing over the size of the bailout / printing, just who has to pay it back....
Yet more printed money, and my guess is that won’t be the end of it for the EU.

Another way of looking at gold at 1450 is that gold has remained absolutely stable and most other assets have depreciated in one way or another around gold.

Been looking at Au over the last few days. Feels like slow but steady progress upwards - but having to really grind to make progress upwards. 1425 as I write....

I am curious as to how this Masterclass, which started in March, has turned out (as gold is currently $1,742).
I am sure we could set up a Crowd Funding Scheme to cover your losses - or if necessary get the US FED to buy your debt.

Regarding prices, we could be in a period of stagflation where some goods rise, others fall, and some remain unchanged. I think that's where we are now. Airline flights, cruises, restaurants prices, and cars are all cheap, but then food and alcohol is on the rise.

Yes - that was an interesting week or two. I don't do short term speculation, but I did think it was a good dip to buy into.
I don't bother with tracking Au in USD, so think the next targets are..... Close above 1400, 1420 and 1450

It was a nice dip to £1320 and a great buying opportunity which I personally took advantage of it because I knew it would be short lived, now £1400 again

I have seen previous commentary that this is driven by demand for gold in India (Weddings?) and China (end of year). I have no idea if this is true.

Yes only 5500 proof sets issued in 1937
Those marks around the rim could be from a circular mount. Being heavily used in a mount is probably the only way it could be genuine.
There's nothing that hits you in the face as being wrong in the design other than there appears to be no sign of the obverse engraver's initials and the date looks a little "wrong" to my eyes.
Probably moot as it's in such a bad state it's essentially bullion.
