Finally received my latest order from @BackyardBullion. Took just over two weeks via regular mail. Not too bad during the holiday season.
Of-course the pieces itself are a nice addition again. The leaf is a bit more chunky than I expected. Very nice.

I did a nice unboxing this weekend with a (for my standards) huge amount of silver and gold.
- Gold sovereign, random year. I ended up with a nice 1902 one. Haven't read a lot about sovereigns, but I think this is a nice year to have
- 5 gilded silver coins: 2018 britannia, 2018 maple leaf, 2018 walking liberty, 2016 & 2017 philharmoniker
- 2018 Proof rectangular dragon: really cool presentation box
- 2018 10 oz Valiant
- 2019 Queens beasts falcon (also dragon and lion so I have 2 of each)
- 2018 Tokelau Equilibrium: looks better than expected after seeing the video review posted on here a while ago.
- 2018 St. Helena Spade of Guinea
- 2017 & 2018 Cayman Marlin: I like that they switched the coins, so with 2 of each you get to see both sides with the package intact.
- 2014 & 2015 Burundi proof History of Aviation: Messerschmitt & Kawasaki, nice quality boxes

I'm wondering what I'm getting by the way. I think it should be just over 1 kg, but the shipment information says 26 kg... Maybe I'm receiving the group order
-
I ordered a whole lot, total of about 1 kg of silver in different coins and a bit of gold. Bullion, proofs, gilded. Really looking forward to the unboxing . It arrived at the distribution point already, but had to postpone the actual delivery to friday....
Finally get to see my beasts Falcon. And most looking forward to my 10 oz Valliant and the proof rectangular dragon.

Nabbed this from ebay. Fell in love with it as soon as I saw it in one of the 'ugliest coin' threads ☺️
Nice one. I guess that it's one you got to hate or love. I think it has it's charm.

I finally got around to picking up the delivery from BYB. All 3 classic pm's represented. The weight and size of the 100g bars kind of surprised me (in a positive sense)
I like the gold philharmoniker. The edge of the coin also surprised me, because of the pattern which has small smooth parts. Gives a nice effect when the light plays on it.

This weekend I all of a sudden remembered that I had some silver in possession long before I started stacking. It doesn't properly fit in any other categories I think so I put it in this topic. I think it's special enough to share with you all.
It is the first ever silver postage stamp worldwide. There are enough comparable items nowadays, but this was an actual stamp you could use. (could be used for registered mail) It was the last Dutch guilders only stamp (that's why they wanted to make something special). The stamps after this were both in euros and guilders. The value is NLG 12.75 which coverts to 5.70 euros. Nowadays you can find it for less online (from about 5 euros), so wouldn't have been a good investment (like all the other stamps I have...).
- Minted at the Royal Dutch Mint.
- 999 silver
- 21 x 25 x 0,1 mm
- mintage 1 million (not rare at all...)
- Fun exercise: it's 52.5 mm3 or 0.0525 cm3. With the specific weight of 10.5 grams per cm3 that should be 0.55125 grams. So at the current silve price a value of 23.6 eurocents. Put against the original value of 5.70 euros that's a premium of 2,320%.
The edges are tarnished, probably partly due to me handling it with my fingers (forgive me, I was young). However, what I've seen even the ones in sealed packaging have tarnished on the edges by now.

Anyone read this? What do you think? Does it make sense to expect a rise in value?
https://www.silverdoctors.com/silver/silver-news/india-soaks-up-physical-silver-supply-craig-hemke/
QuoteDivide Indian demand into the total mine supply number and you find that India is on pace to import one third of all the silver mined globally in 2018.
...
Thus, watch these global physical demand numbers closely in the months to come. If Indian and global physical silver demand continue to surge, the digital derivative pricing system must respond with higher prices or it will risk collapse and failure.

Last week I received two nice items, but very different from each other.
The first is a nice coin from Burundi from the Baby five series. I've been looking for a coin from Burundi for longer, but I really don't like their design in the African lion series. I managed to get this one for a reasonable price in an online auction. It came without the original box, but I think the price makes up for it. I really love the design on this one. The high relief combined with the antiquing really makes it pop out. In real life it looks a bit better than photos with the light playing of it.
The other one is a cool item is native silver of a calcite base. Not for stacking of course, but nice to have the range of silver in it's original form, bars and coins. I love the fine detail on it.

I just got my lastest order from @BackyardBullion It started with the silver globe, one of which I managed to get hold of. Really love how it looks, with the finish and the base (props to BYB senior). Added another silver forum bar, a ripple square and some copper coins (because of the dragon design ?) to my order. I really love the ripples on the square. It's a bit difficult to properly photograph, but it's a cool effect in the lighting.

I also want to buy my first real gold in the near future (besides the 2 grams of maplegrams I have). What were your considerations in choosing the panda compared to for example a sovereign? Just the cheapest/lowest premium?

I received a package with a load of coins from goldsilver.be yesterday. Some for stacking and some for the series/numismatics:
- both Rwanda Nautical coins
- Australia Bird of paradise
- Niue Double dragon
- UK Britannia Oriental border
- Tube of regular Britannia's
Regrettably one of the oriental borders has some milkspotting already (luckily on the queens side). That on also has a capsule that doesn't close properly (the other one takes a lot of effort to take it off...)
On the other hand I really like the nautical and bord of paradise coins. They look a lot better in real life compared to the photos.

Unfortunutly Only the shipper can file a claim in Germany.
Wouldn't it be possible to file a report with DHL with the police-report? Maybe they can alert the staff at the office where he sends his packaging to look for dodgy packing (like the taped-over labels).

Nice photo!
That took a lot longer than usual to get there. It should have been 5 days max!
Thanks. I'm still waiting for a book from the UK which was sent the week before you shipped, so still happy this arrived without problems.

They look nice. What are your thoughts about them seeing them in real-life now?

I think I'm jumping on this series (just the BU's). Besides the fact that I like the subject/story and the looks I hope it will be a nice series to sell.
What do you all think about the series in the long run?
