""Only"" need a 38 ,39 and a 41 . Don't we all lol Good luck with those. Do you collect the different mints , same year but different dies and a Ansell and known errors ? The list is bigger than would seem. Lovely coins well done.

My spoils from the recent Bullion By Post Black Friday promotion.
A collective saving of £296 off the Royal Mint issue price for the Sovereign & Half Sovereign- and the offer sweetened further with 2 free 1oz Silver Britannia- one for me, and one for the Goldfish in their ‘refer a friend’ promotion.
Essentially the Half Sovereign weighing in at only £45 after factoring in the savings and the freebie Silver- well, it justifies my unplanned purchase.

Thanks, I'll probably need a bit of that @richatthecroft
A simple date run, one bullion sov of each year available, although not sure I'll follow through the 3 earliest any time soon...
Got quite a few duplicates so might be some interesting bits and pieces in there I'll have a sort out one of these days.
You never know though the dog might come back from walkies one day and cough up £12k

Nice addition to your Christmas stocking…better than a tangerine and a lump of coal.
200th Anniversary coin.
£500 plus post.
Thanks.

I think it’s nigh on impossible to assess the grade of an 86 year old proof coin from photos- I wouldn’t even hazard a guess- photographs lie!
Here’s my 1937 5 Sovereign- the upper (or left side) photo makes the coin look fantastic the other looking like a dog!
Incidentally, I have only graded one coin from my 1937 Set- the Sovereign, and it achieved a PF65 Cameo- the set is reasonably consistent 5 Sovereign to Half- the 2 Sovereign would likely achieve the lowest grade.
Beautiful Set you have there Clive 👍 Good luck with the grading🤞

richatthecroft got a reaction from Squashie in Sixpence Monarch Type Set
Nearly there.
Each Monarch since the Inaugural Sixpence issue.
Notable absences is a Phillip & Mary Sixpence (substituted here with a Mary Groat) and also a William & Mary, neither of which I have been able to source an example I would be happy with, the former will be a difficult gap to fill. In terms of a Cromwell issue, I've resigned myself that it would be beyond my resources to ever acquire that Sixpence.
I will in time add a nice example Hammered Elizabeth I and a Charles II- and I would like to add Proof George III & George IV example's well as a Proof William IV issue.
What I've learnt: Sixpences are a difficult denomination to source in better grade! The House of Stuart, particularly the Charles I period is the most interesting in terms of Coinage and Types of coinage.
What I need to learn: to take time and have more patience in curating a collection of this type.
Hope you enjoy taking a look at these Sixpence Types as much as I have enjoyed collecting them.

I have re-reviewed some information supplied to me by a group of forum members as well as some other information that was recently supplied by one other forum member. Although I can not independently verify any information, and there was no reported private messages on TSF that could be validated (currently), taking the external evidence into consideration at face value and information taken directly from Bearest78, I have decided in the interests of being cautious and especially due to recent events to close this member's account @Bearest78 (operating as GALLERY8SIX LTD) this action is in good faith and for the benefit of the forum community.
Please make sure that any payments sent to this member were to this company’s bank account: GALLERY8SIX LTD. If you had received any requests for money to be sent elsewhere please report those private messages. If an invoice was not made available at request please also report that private message.
From the information supplied it is believed that this member is either likely or likely connected to a previously banned forum member. I had directly asked if they knew this person, which they denied, however the information/external evidence received shows otherwise.
If you have any trades with this member please complete them and please do not start any more trades with this member. It is advisable not to trade with any banned members outside of the forum. Whitman Encyclopedia of Mexican Money Volume II: Modern Coins of Mexico, 1905 to Date by Don Bailey (June 23,2015)
Extremely difficult to source in the UK, and offered with postage included at £45
With 457 pages packed with information including mintages and a (2015) price guide- it’s a wonderful resource for anyone interested in collecting the coins of Mexico. Written by the late Don Bailey PhD, who was at the forefront in research of Mexican money.
This volume is an outstanding guide to the last century of Mexican coins, being split into sections on the 1905-1992 regular issues, the post 1992 issues, and the commemoratives including the Libertad.
Straightforward layout featuring full colour, life size illustrations of each coin and year-by-year evaluations. There are also frequent side bars with information on the designs, such as biographies of portrayed persons or an overview of the Sun Calendar design. For anyone interested in Mexican coins, this volume is pretty much a perfect encapsulation.
