I am glad to add my first 80 Lire coin to my collection. It has the weight equivalent weight of 4 x 20 Francs/Lire etc.
Unfortunately the 40 Lire is somehow thicker on the reverse, left side of the shield. The obverse is even and not thinner. Weight and dimensions are ok.
Anyone got a idea what the reason for this could be ? @Augur maybe ?

Modern and Classic beauties

So today I picked up something I think is special. 1908 D No Motto Indian Head $10.
I am sorely tempted to grade this.
NGC Estimates - MS63 $7.1k, MS66 $120k MS67 $195k. 

In the 2020 stacking goals thread I wrote of my desire to add at least one each $5 and $10 Canadian gold coins minted between 1912 - 1914. These coins were among the first to really appeal to me when I got in to collecting in my late teens yet they've always felt out of reach. Today I took great pleasure in receiving and unwrapping one I had recently bought. I love everything about the design of these coins and will very much cherish this one.

The new edition of 'Numismatica Espanola' which came out at Xmas.
The last editions were in 2008 and 1994 before that, I have spent the last few years trying to get a copy fortunately Aureo & Calico let me know over the summer that this was on its way - very happy 😀

Franklin Mint Sterling Silver Star Trek Spaceships- missing one out of the 12. 

Gold acquisitions!  A couple of French 20-Franc pieces.  
Firstly a 1901 coin with the classic Gallic rooster design on one side and Marianne (symbol of liberty and reason) on the other, and secondly a 20 Franc coin from 1812 featuring a portrait of the emperor Napoleon 1st.
Annoyingly the 1812 coin didn’t come in a capsule, but capsules are cheap.

Seven new additions for my 1967 collection from US, with the priceless help of @augur and @Lr103. Was thinking to expand including nice copper coins, with RD designation only. The two British ones look quite nice from up close, despite the not so high grade. Can't say the same for the brass coin, it looked much better in the pictures, not sure if I'll get more.

Today I received an early Christmas Present with the help of @Lr103

some additions to the World War I Collection and a few bits from South America. 
I particularily like this ‘struck trough’ coin where you can still make out the fibres of the material that got wedged in. 

Sometimes I just can’t resist buying interesting odd bits. These are the Franklin Mint Floral Alphabet Miniature Plate Collection. Sterling Silver. Just under 300gm. 
Each plate has a flower that begins with a letter of the alphabet- 26 in total. 
Were destined for the melt, I grabbed them. Jus thought they looked cool. They need a clean, but for now put them in 1oz capsules and they look nice. 

Not all received today, but are being ‘shown today’ for the first time.
A few months ago, I fell for these ‘Sovereigns of South America’ (same size, weight etc as the British Sovereign), and started to hoover up as many as I could!
The more observant might have noticed a couple of them appearing on Numi videos recently (1917 and 1966). Lots more heading to NGC soon I hope😃!

but sell for reasonable prices 🤑...just got to love them 😀.
