Cheers. I think to be clear, most third party grading services will be very careful and if you have a rare coin, then I would not worry too much. Where it becomes an issue is with the wider releases like Elton John, Bowie, Three Graces etc. I will always self grade the coins that fall into that latter category. For the rarer coins, I would absolutely use the service offered by Coins of the Realm. Trustworthy and honest. I would even use them for the Three Graces if it wasn't for me wanting to totally geek out on the process myself........there is something really cool about receiving update emails and being able to log in and see what is happening.......

Just go to the NGC website and join as a member. You will of course need to be mindful of the fees - 25$ joining fee to get direct submission rights and then grading and processing fees. The whole point of going through a third party is to reduce these fees, but then you lose control of the process and risk your coins being mixed up with others etc.
You have a processing fee for each form - so better, if you are going to self grade, to wait until you can fill the form - that will save some money. Have a look at the site and review the costs. It is not difficult.
Also, if you live in London, the NGC office is in central around the corner from the British Museum. That way you avoid postage fees too.

    Cheers.

Grade, but do it yourself or via Coins of the Realm which is cheaper that other providers of a similar service. I self grade and would recommend it, but if you want a third party to assist, then you would at least get the actual coin you submitted back if you went with them. Others have been accused of switching to achieve the best possible outcome. Not something that I have personally experienced, but absolutely one that people talk about.

The Royal Mint monitor Ebay sales. If you have listed it and do not then receive the coin from the Mint, do not be surprised.

That's where the screenshot came from before 9am.

Good luck to everybody. Got a silver one. I was 350 in the queue so there was most likely no gold 2oz available at all today. Also if you tried to get people to refresh you are a scumbag.

@kimchi  just searched these out for results
Certainly worth your while gambling grading it. if you hit lucky with a 70 your adding a few hundred to the price.
For the less that £40 to grade should be money well spent

@kimchi I sold my PF69 Queen 2oz Silver on ebay for £275, taking advantage of the £1 FVF. It actually went to Germany via GSP and the buyer must have paid over £350 once further delivery and import fees were added...

Absolutely agreed @Paul, many thanks for a great post
I've never flipped a coin in my life, but this one has a premium I unfortunately need to cash in I think (much as I've been glad to have something so low mintage, celebrating an incredible band).
Open to (reasonable - no timewasters!) offers

All these modern coins of past few years, elton, bowie, queen, bonds.
    buy, grade, auction, repeat
most are just getting recycled for instant profits, big or small
    not being actually collected
if auctally LESS coins came to market it would do far better for demand/values
im just as happy it sat gathering dust in safe deposit.  also happy cos i like the band to
it will be in the years to come when one doesn't come to market for six months or a year when a rarity is truly rare and bidded up "honestly" by demand for it
so much speculation and gambling in all these new items. lots of folk paying big-bananas money for 70s
the item owes me nothing,  but i dont need anything so happy to sit on it to be fair

i haven't been following them to be fair.
my 2oz has been in safe deposit box since i got it.
A few went for silly money that graded 70 through last year

Why would you delight in being right > silver going up? you sell silver, have money invested in silver and your channel views increased on the buzz around silver
You're laughing in the face of your clients and audience
    Odd

Did he? Sorry I may have got Soros mixed up with Black Wednesday in 1992 when we crashed out of the ERM. I'd just started my politics and economics studies and all our classes on the Tuesday were cancelled, we just all sat in class in absolute disbelief (my teacher was into shares and white as a sheet) watching the news roll in by the hour as Norman Lamont spent all our tax money in a completely futile 'attempt' to prop up the pound, which promptly collapsed the next day. Funnily enough all the big financiers knew it was going to happen in advance (as did a classroom of newbie students) and bet their houses on it.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Wednesday
Lamont's Wikipedia page is incredibly kind to him (as is the above linked version of events) and hardly mentions it. He must have done something right though because he was made a Baron and member of the Privy Council, is now director of a hedge fund (!) and has various other high-level financial activities. Before entering Parliament he worked for Rothschild Investment Bank and became Director of Rothschild Asset Management (RAM). He first stood for KIngston, Hull (Prescott's seat) but that didn't work so he went for Kingston-upon-Thames instead. Before that he was chairman of the Bow Group 'think tank' (I think we all know some of what those are).
I am sure that Brown like Lamont (and prolific paedo and child murderer Ted Heath, who took us into the EEC on very unfavourable terms) knew exactly what they were doing, told to or not, and I'm extremely suspicious of what's going on right now...
