  1. Can't find any reference to a Nautical Ounce (not even on Wikipedia :) ).  The coin's overall theme/design looks nice but it's got a lot going on (the ship, lines of latitude/longitude, the compass rose, the name of the ship, rope border, astrolabe, compass, spyglass, etc.).  Perhaps if they just left off "Nautical Ounce" since it doesn't seem like that means anything and moved "Santa Maria" to that area of the coin in the same font as "Nautical Ounce" it might help clean it up a bit.  Just my two nautical cents...

  2. Right but on the NGC verification screen, to the right of the images are two sections.  One is "Price Guide Value" which for many coins states "Not Available" and the second is "Total Graded by NGC" which typically tells you how many are in your grade and how many are in a higher grade.  Currently, that states "Not Available" making me wonder if this is the first of the 2017 1/10 oz BUs they've graded.  Doesn't really mean anything as I'm sure others are coming along shortly.  I was just curious.

  3. I just grabbed a pretty rare 2017 1/20 oz Gold Proof Libertad with a mintage of 100 coins.  That's tied with the 1 oz for the lowest mintage of the 2017 Gold proofs.  The others are:

2017 Gold proof Libertads (beyond the 500 5 coin sets):
    1 oz: 100 pcs
    1/2 oz: 300 pcs
    1/4 oz: 400 pcs
    1/10 oz: 1,000 pcs
    1/20 oz: 100 pcs

Interesting that the 1/10 oz Gold BU has a mintage of 300 but the highest mintage of the Gold proofs at 1000.

  4. Hi Frenchie and welcome to the Forum.  Last I checked, JM Bullion www.jmbullion.com has the 2017 1/4 oz Gold BU Libertad for sale.  It's my understanding the 1/10 oz has sold out.  I hope this helps.  Look forward to seeing you around the Forum.

There's some smudge either on the lid or the frosting.

Is that even a real coin? Just asking because I thought it would bear the 5th portrait from Jodi Clark (JC) but your coin spells JB – is that a typo from the mint?!

I have to say I'm with @augur on this one.  As long as I've been collecting (which isn't a terribly long time), I've never even seen that image of QEII before.  Almost looks Pobjoy-ish.  @Sovereign, you mentioned you'd done some research online and found JB on some images but is this an official portrait?  For government issued coinage, I guess I was under the assumption it had to be one of the handful of official portraits.  I am a Yank so we may be able to chalk this up to "I don't know what the hell I'm talking about".

NCS will definitely be able to hook you up though.  Remember Numi's pics of that George VI proof Sov with the red spot?  If they can work that kind of magic, this should be a walk in the park for them.

The mintage is only a rumor but does come from a good source. My 1/10th should arrive by Saturday and will go for grading.

Same here..same day, same destination...Texas to Florida via North Carolina  ;) This coin should look sharp with the Mexico label and "Early Releases" designation.

Wow!  I wasn't overly impressed until you showed the side view...that's a big ol' chunky piece of Silver, very original.  Nice pick-up!  Congrats.

I also got a Indian Sovereign today, really nice in the card, thinking I should have got couple more

Check out the asking price on eBay as the dealer of these Indian Sovs doesn't ship outside the UK...

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-ROYAL-MINT-INDIA-FULL-GOLD-SOVEREIGN-WITH-I-MINT-MARK-IN-CERTIFICATE-CARD-/322635948949?hash=item4b1e99e395:g:-hoAAOSwNJ5ZhaqL

Here's a money making opportunity if I've ever seen one.  Even if you knocked 250 -300 USD off that seller's asking price that'd still be a decent bit of coin in your pocket for virtually no effort.  Beautiful coin btw.  I have the 1918-I so the thought crossed my mind to collect all the Indian Sovs until I saw what some of these are going for since the 2013 release

2017 Indian Sovereign, thought about buying 3 but I seem to have a mental block about buying multiples of one thing for whatever reason

Also got my SOTD 2017 BU sovereign from chards  posted today

So will be cool tomorrow to receive both B)

I'd put good money down that same hesitation doesn't apply to beer... ;)

  10. Great question...when I hit the site up a few hours after the YouTube video was posted, they were nowhere to be found...and not like you could see them and it just said "Sold Out", it's like they never even existed. And I haven't seen them since (yours is the first). Who knows why they did it.

Btw anyone knows who made all these presentation box and special labels? Even MCM doesn’t have this label

Govmint.com did those Unicorns and labels. For those unaware, MCM and Govmint.com are both owned by the same parent.

Silver ByTheOz put out a heads up YouTube video back on June 6 about them. I saw the video about two hours or so after he posted it and they were already gone.
