HonestMoneyGoldSilver reacted to Charliemouse in Gold 1oz Eagles - which size capsule?
Quick rundown of my experiences with coin capsules:
Air-Tites cater more for the stackers.  They have a fixed outer diameter (for each series letter), and either an inner plastic rim or a foam ring to fit the coin size.  They are also flatter in profile so they stack better, and of course they sell tubes for each series to aid stacking.  Much harder to get in Europe, and consequently can be quite expensive.  The lids fit very tightly together (hence the name) but can be quite awkward to open, as they don't provide a cut-out to get your fingernail in.
Lighthouse are more for the collectors.  The capsules are available in many (many) different sizes, but vary inner and outer.  They have a slightly curved surface, which looks nicer on displays IMHO.  'Grips' have rims, and are the older range.  Their 'Ultra' range have smooth edges and super clear plastic.  Within 'Ultra' there is 'Perfect Fit', which are only available in a few of the really popular sizes, including ones for 1oz gold and silver coins - tighter tolerances and hold the coin firmly.  'Intercept' have the foam surround, and kind of look like Air-Tites, but their outer diameter varies with the inner, so they are not as stacker friendly.  Much easier and cheaper to get in Europe.

HonestMoneyGoldSilver got a reaction from timsk in Stolen Coins - Help!
The postman signing himself and leaving it in the garage is how my mail arrives most of the time. They even have the cheek to text me with a picture of the forged signature as proof of delivery ..... "handed to resident" ..... umm no, it wasn't and you know it wasn't
I've only ever had stuff go missing once (SD) and when I phoned RM they told me that every member of staff in the chain of custody for SD packs is known and on camera. RM should be able to pinpoint who was in custody of the package when it went missing/got damaged. The SD packs tend to be weighed at various points and always before they go on a plane (a lot of SD takes a plane on part of the journey). After I phoned and RM investigated, my pack showed up 2 days later with a stamp from a different point of origin than I was expecting. I'm not suspicious at all, it totally wasn't £3K worth of coins and my "Guaranteed 1pm special delivery" didn't take 10 days to arrive ....
It's sad that so many of us have stories like this about RM. I hear ParcelForce are worse though. Thoughts and prayers @timsk

I mean no offense and your story sounds very plausible, most likely you are legit, but I'm not spending £1650 on "most likely". I would need to be certain as would anyone else of sound mind

Hi everyone!  I'm Nuno Elias, from Lisbon in Portugal!   Thanks for having me!

A couple of months ago I started digging into precious metals (pun intended). And then, out of curiosity, I did my first investment in a 1 kilo silver bar, which I bought on a second-hand market. I have a lack of words to describe how intrigued (yet very excited) I was to be holding onto a such a nice piece of pure silver.

So I decided I wanted to learn more about silver, how to invest and collect it.  And shortly after a couple of hours researching online,  I found out about the Silver Forum.
I'm still learning the ropes about silver, but hopefully some day I can contribute to this forum and to the community.

Thank you, and wish you all a great weekend!

    Cheers,
    Nuno

That's your choice of course and people respect your choice. Just remember this isn't your business(s) website, this is a peer to peer forum built on trust, with a feedback system designed to signal who is reputable. None of the long standing members with high feedback will piss away their membership on the forum over a bar.
There's a lot more risk giving someone £1600+ who has no feedback and 0 to lose than it is to send to someone who everyone knows on here, who is buying every day.
    Good luck with your sale

I honestly though £750 was a good deal compared to the bullion sites and I didn't not think I was asking way over what I could get for the coins. I accept I have probably ruined my reputation here a little.

All the best and let's hope both gold and silver prices rise soon.

Yeah Constantin was selling them for £25.50 each today, which is £4.50 less, or £112.50 less per tube.
Also, people won't really pay any more because there is some sticky tape keeping them unopened, what is more important @Goldbrittanialover is people knowing for sure what year the coins are, they may want to see them too
