Remember that the gold kookaburras (and platinum) are private montages with Perth using the kookaburra design so that’s probably why the website is vague. 
 
by law they hold some small numbers back to sell themselves and usually one other Australian dealer. The rest goes to the company that commissioned it and they sell/ distribute from there. 
 
Looks like they are starting to do the same with the koala this year too.
no 1oz gold in either design though. 

Yea I figure the premium would be hard to recoup which is one reason I’m apprehensive on putting together a whole set of the cats. I enjoy the topic and the various changing designs but I’ve a feeling it’s likely money that could never be recouped for much over spot price. However, to just add one 1/10 coin to a run of various 1/10ths, most of which would have lower premiums, I think I could live with it in order to get a cool cat coin in my collection.

A very quiet month last month for buying stuff whilst waiting for the memorial sovs to land but did buy a couple of things on the TSF pass the parcel. First was two lovely proof Brits from @Orpster

Also I added to the pot of Tudor Beasts and 2022 sovs. Time to move onto memorial sov bullion next.

From @arphethean - 3 goldbacks, only the 1/1000ths, due to the insane relative premiums, but very pretty things. I have the Utah somewhere but can't lay my hands on it. That's the full set for now, but hopefully more to come.

Your advice is the best one for UK, where the market is very mature and the transactions are mostly via reputable dealers.
In Romania is a little different. Even the quantity of gold per person is probably more than double than in UK, the transactions are mostly on private market.
 

Is there VAT in "investment gold" in Romania?
Forget 14k, 18k, it will not be VAT exempt.
Coins are generally easier and better to sell than bars.
One ounce or smaller coins better.

Yes and no. It's a new set of 3 coins like the robin hood ones, but they all fall under the myths and legends.

More to come ... will be a set of 9 coins. Next one should be King Arthur.
