Just get a good quality safe, Google it, there are loads to choose from, price, size, make etc. plenty of places in a house to put one👍
I guess so, never really thought before about bolting stuff to infrastructure that belongs to someone else but will think again on this.

Well, I assume you must be resting your head somewhere? Or have you got big pockets?🤔
Private rent now since 2009 so paying someone else's mortgage but had no choice 😞

Just get a big safe and hide it in your house🤔
I would if the gynocentric UK justice system hadn't taken my house away.

I’d have an outside bet on the Queen Consort, but she’s more likely to come into play at the Coronation.
Lol, makes her sound like a nag ... oh! 😂

Bearing in mind premiums, maybe worth looking at a safety deposit box?
I'm considering getting one of these myself but I understand from what I have read that often you have to insure the contents yourself even though they are in a vault. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chip in on this?

PMs were never a shield from an SHTF situation, whatever those grifting YouTubers might tell you. PMs are only a store of wealth - it really is as boring and unexciting as that. When CBDCs come along, the PMs will still store your wealth but a big shift in public consciousness would be required for PMs to be accepted as alternative payments from CBDCs. Maybe if CBDCs prove exceptionally unpopular, but I doubt the public have it in them.

They said they would refund / cancel the order, and to buy again.
Given that they advised you like this and then messed up ... personally I think they should be obliged to make good on their word. i.e. cancel the first one of the two orders and refund the associated first payment. If you agree to accept their mistake and go ahead with both orders & payments then I think they should give you something by way of an apology e.g. a discount off this/these or next purchase.

Many thanks for all the helpful, interesting and informative responses 🙂
I have just packaged it up ready to put it in the post this evening. I'm not going to mess about trying to get a replacement so it is just a straight return for a refund.
Don't think I'll bother with proof coins any more 😂

I ditched PayPal a few years back because they started meddling in politics and freezing the accounts of certain youtubers. I have never regretted the decision since it didn't really add any value anyway.
The recent furore over the $2500 "fines" just made more people aware of their political meddling. There's a saying "get woke, go broke" and I think a number of high profile companies are smarting from such transgressions lately. Personally I think companies should steer clear of politics and remain as neutral as possible as otherwise they will always end up alienating some part of their customer base.

Pre-decimal coins were in circulation for years after 1971. It's only been 29 years since the last ones went.
Yes ...
"With the introduction of the decimal coinage in 1971 the pre-decimal one shilling coin was re-denominated as a 5p coin and these old shilling coins continued to circulate alongside the 5p coin until 1990."

If fireproofing isn't necessary (silver is silver) then a PELI case might not be a bad choice.

etc.
Agreed, I don't use mine for PMs, I use it mainly for important documents.

Look into something like this as it should be airtite, still include a few moisture packs.
Look around for better prices though, as I'm sure they will pop up cheaper
I have one of these except it is branded SentrySafe. Please read the reviews as they may well tell you that the inside can become damp due to the materials used in the construction. I keep moisture sensitive items in mine inside double-ziplock freezer bags or ziplock document pouches.

Thanks all for your thoughts and opinions. In the end temptation got the better of me so I have followed Lawrence's advice and ordered a 2023 Gold Brit and will also get a 2023 QEII Sov if they do appear.

Does anyone know if there will be 2023 dated Queen Elizabeth II Sovereigns released?
I'm trying to decide whether to put my money into a 2023 QEII Britannia or wait for 2023 QEII Sovereigns.

Depending on the type/size of the capsules an empty effervescent Vitamin C tube can work well and can easily fit 20+ sovs in capsules, probably up to 25. They need to be the smaller external diameter type of capsules ... try the ones that are lipless and about 25mm external diameter. Anyway, these tubes are cheap and widely available so easy to experiment with.
